How Shit is Djourou?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Bring back Keown as defensive coach.

Djourou was ok last season, has been awful since his injury.

No point saying he's shit even Nesta would look toilet in our defence. When there is no organization, no communication, no defensive plan or proper coaching/drilling, what do you expect? Blame the fucking imbecile in charge.

No, he's been shit for longer than that. Jumps in, gets turned too easily, and his positional play is awful.

He's a train wreck.

Some of our players are decent, some are poor, some are very very poor. Match them with an incapable manager and there is only one possible outcome. There is such little hope because frankly, we are not good enough.
Wenger, as a manager, is appalling. He is a talent spotter at best. I struggle to think of any manager of a 'top' side who is so limited in just about every area of management as Wenger.

If Wenger is a man of honour, then he should walk away. He is a multi-millionaire, he doesn't need money, so save Arsenal, the club you supposedly love Mr Wenger, around 15m that we can ill afford to pay, to get rid of you. This is Wengers biggest test of all, has he the bottle, has he the honour, to walk away and help Arsenal?

Of course he hasn't!!! He should have resigned after the Man U game straight away.... he is one stubborn bastard, like a bit of shit that can't be cleaned from the inside of a toilet pan...

Actually mate I witnessed one last season and that is a pretty accurate assesment.

Some light jogging.

Lots of passing.

A "match" which consisted of forwards v defence.............pass, pass. pass, pass try to put Walcott in................ start again. :banghead:

All this a few days before we played against a team who would play The hoof it long and lump it high approach.

When I questioned our guide (nice bloke) why we were not adapting to our opponents tactics he said "we are the arsenal, we let our opponents worry about us  " So our opponents tactics can nulify us (usually quite easily) bit we do NOTHING to try to stop them. Arsene knows F.A

This of course is the correct approach for the best of the best teams throughout football history. However, you need great players, to a man, to pull it off.

When you have, er, less than great players making up most of the squad, you need to be a bit smarter.

Although I'm not sure he's good enough, he was decent last season. The problem lies with the manager, lack of training/discipline and overall culture at the club rather than one player.

He was made to look decent as he had Squillaci and Koscienly next to him, don't you member the last 6 or 7 games of the season?

I think we have contributed to Djourou and Troare being so sh*t defensively. Djourou played as a right back and got raped in the Blackburn game. Chris Smalling have been playing as a right back for United and have been brilliant this season. The question you've got to ask is Smalling was really world class talent? A lot of Gooners dismissed the guy when we are linked with him. Similarly Djourou even though never a excellent centre back could have been at least made into a decent back up.
