Training and fitness - back to basics

Post by foxweasel »

1. I'm an old crunt at 71 so I know of what I speak. What the F is Pat Rice doing running around in tthe pre-match warm up (or for the rest of the time for that matter)? I saw Ramsay laughing the other week and I swear it was because he was having a giggle at Rice's expense. I know Sir Alex (spit boy, spit!!) thinks he's still fit in trainers but he's more than fit in the brainbox, which sort of compensates.

2. A game is divided into measurable and obvious sections. There are usually clocks around the ground to indicate the passage of time. Why do we so often take the lead, then take our foot off the gas and look around at the scenery, playing patty-ball, while the oposition re-group, get back to us and usually equalise. Why not instill in the team to go for the win and the jugular at this crucial time. We can all see it - why not AW?

Rings a bell - seen it somewhere in the chats but can't remember where - must be the an attack of the Pat Rices. Re your strapline: yup, I'm old enough for that - boo, hiss. Same mob who have just gtrounced Liverpool 4-0, which makes us 0-6 to Spurs.
But to talk of relevant things.; I've supported Arsenal now for 65 years and I'm just sad whenever they go through a trough but chuffed when they do enough.

He looked like a Brazilian version of Clichy but with a hunch in his back...

is wenger going for players with afflictions - we have gervinho with his large forehead, Santos with his hump back and Arshavin the midget

Let's put it this way. He's no Usain Bolt but crossing looks promising. Judge him at Christmas

I was happy enough with santos tbh  We have to remember that these new signings are being put into a team with too many average/shite team-mates, no fcuking tactics at all, no heart and worst of all no bottle so you cannot expect them to light up the place straight away. Tbh re mertesacker it isnt his lack of pace that concerns me cos we all knew that was the case before he signed but I would expect him to be a lot more physical at 6ft 6" so he is gonna have to start clattering some opposition forwards to put the fear of god into them and lively or else they will see him as a weak link.

Well where to start on that shambolic second half ?

Playing away from home is a recurring nightmare, start the game relatively well, score a couple of nice goals, miss chances to kill the game then throw it away through some idiotic defending. Why hasn't this been addressed ? Seeing the same thing happen this season is pure negligence from the management.

So what do they do to rectify the problem ? play f-cking zonal instead FFS we look even worse with 9 men on the 6 yard box failing to take responsibility.

AW is finished in my view, he's lost the players and the fans. He f-cked up during the transfer window and i'm sorry but the buck stops with you Mr. Knows. Do the honourable thing and go so we can all have a fresh start and look forward to watching Arsenal again.

Mertesacker have never been known to be a physical player even though he is 6 feet 6. Among the players we were linked with, Jagielka is the one we should have got.

An FA spokesman said: "On the face of it, it's easy to laugh at Wenger's crestfallen incomprehension and his magisterial inability to shoulder any of the blame, to titter about the team's complete absence of backbone and to guffaw at the gulf between them and the top teams they used to compete against.

The defence is still as wful as ever. Tbh Midfield/Attack is pretty solid. What fucks me off is in the last 5 minutes we suddenly discovered that crossing to big fellas in the box is worthwhile.

He needs a defensive coach in and he needs it now. Koscielny could become a good player is he's coached well.
