we might scrape through this one, but it wont be pretty.

Every ticket not yet sold should be given away for free.

Arsenal.com is running a competition for pairs of tickets anyway, it should just allocate them to everyone who enters on a first come, first served basis.

The last thing the club needs is media coverage of a half-empty stadium. Also, having it full up increases merchandising/catering opportunities, and free tickets might well boost fan-to-club relations.

Plus, at £5-10 a pop, the club really wouldn't be missing out on much.

Obviously, none of this will happen, because the club is run so poorly.

Good idea, sadly the club is run so pathetically they don't see the opportunities. Give something away for free?! Oh no, we can't do that. We'd end up like Leeds! :banghead:

I dont understand why this game hasnt sold out as the tickets are only £10.

why do people prefer to spend more money on watching the Emirates Cup?

Wouldn't giving all the remaining tickets away for free be even more embarrassing? :? :?

If they posted to their website "Roll up, roll up: get your free tickets here", then yes, it would look embarrassing.

But as they're giving away pairs of tickets in competitions anyway, why not have multiple 'winners' and keep dishing the tickets out as 'prizes' until they're all gone.

For instance, if I don't go to the game (which I'm not planning on), the club won't receive a penny from me. No £10 on the ticket, and no money on food, drinks or programmes either.

However, if they gave me the ticket for nothing, I'd likely spend at least a fiver on beer at half-time, and possibly a dirty burger. Thus, the club would actually make more money than if I didn't go at all.

I'm in North Bank block 11 tomorrow. For tenner I would watch any league football. Lower tiers look to be sold out.

Shrewsbury seems to be in form atm, so they'll give it a go. Could be an interesting game.
