Spurs - the media darlings

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The reason Wenger gets a hard ride is that he is off-hand and sarcastic with the media (written & TV) whereas Redknapp is very accommodating towards all sections of the media.

In life mate - you reap what you sow. If Wenger treats them with contempt, they will return the favour!!
This is so true. The media is made up mostly of total arseholes but they have the power of THE MEDIA at their fingertips. You piss them off and they can return the favour tenfold.

And in all honesty how many of us have sat there watching Wenger's post-match comments and wanted the fucking Earth to swallow us because we were so embarrassed by his drivel...?

If Redknobb's nose was any further up the media's arse the scrotum hanging off his face would be tea-bagging its tongue. Sperz are deffo the media's darlings but that's got sod all to do with us really.

Even if they're only doing it to kick us while we're down, we probably need the negative press more than we need the opposite right now. Extra pressure on Wenger & the board and a proper analysis of their performance & how it's affecting the club has gotta be better than it all being swept under the carpet, even if it means they go a bit ott at times. Inadvertently they're probably helping us, a bit like the scum/mancs etc all singing "one Arsene Wenger."

Sp*rs have always been shit so there's no story there. (Glad they are out though :D )

Problem is the media sense a real story in us falling from the upper echelons of the Premier League. Whether the swamp-dweller finish in the CL or not: meh. But us not getting a CL place, which looks very possible, or falling even further down, which could happen, is a much bigger story.

I have to say I actually don't read papers or trawl the internet for Arsenal stories and only occaisionally get to see SSN, like yesterday. So it's easy for me to say rise above it, ignore.

There is a lot of truth in that

It is well known that the Cheese On Toast Face SpivCunt - hands out freebies (tickets) like candy to those who interview him...not just footie games, but race meetings especially - My boss also runs stables with several horses and know him and his priick of a son through that - they own racing (horse) stables in the South of England...and are always throwing shindigs for journo's and other media mavericks.....

I just hope he does go down for Tax Evasion - though of course he's got the top QC's in the land on retainer now fighting his case....I wonder what his arselickingmediadarings will do then......makes all kinds of excuses...

I don’t buy that explanation, in the metro they dedicated a whole page to arsenal, giving ample space for all the usual Cesc, Nasri, 8-2 humiliation (they love that word at the moment) etc but couldn’t find it in themselves to mention the pro Wenger chanting… Nor did they give much space to spurs getting knocked out last night, but then they don’t ever say a bad word about ol arry. In addition to that, I’m sure if the team was booed at the final whistle they would have reported it, that’s at the end of the game isn’t it? If you’re not at the match, I’m not sure how you feel confident commenting on events, particularly when your source of knowledge is a reporter who is being paid to dramatise events. You know, they sometimes even make up stories to get coverage. Just ask Cesc…
