As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I finally got a ticket for this one through the Arsenal supporters club London! A friend of mine advised me not to wear colours at the ground because it can get a bit lively and the atmosphere can be intimidating! I would like to ask your opinion, is it really that bad?
If we beat them we'll move above them in the table!

Yeah probably wise not to wear colours to a North London Derby away game
To be fair the last couple of seasons it's not been too bad, but this one's a sunday afternoon 4pm kick off, people will have been drinking all day unlike the mid-week kick offs so it could get feisty.

Why bother mate?
You'll only bring unwanted attention onto yourself. I know it's covered but you'll feel more content with yourself just wearing your normal attire.
Yeah absolutely agree with this. There's just no point.
Although last season while I was on a bus up towards the ground there was a group of 20-30 gooners singing arsenal songs all the way up the high road... probably some members on here?
Having been to the lane a fair few times I can say I have never seen any trouble. You mainly get knobheads trying to act tough when there's the police line seperating the two sets of fans, but as soon as everyone merges you don't really see anything.
That being said, there is always a tense atmosphere at the lane, and the feeling that trouble could always be near by. Obviously it's not a myth about the scum fans and there are a fair few who will be spoiling for trouble. Use a bit of common sense, leave the colours at home, and don't give it the billy big bollocks outside and you'll be fine.

Have you been to a derby match in england before? There's brave and there's stupid mate. Wear your colours if you want. Just don't be surprised if you get a constant barrage of abuse and someone decides to lamp you.
