trouble is that they're are all such loaded terms.
ie
far right = you're racist
centre left = you're new labour champagne socialist
far left = outdated communist
conservative right = supporter of elitist mob currently country
when in fact you might be none of those things
A more useful political indicator needs two axis at the very least, ie
axis 1: economically left (big welfare state/government/distribution of wealth) vs economically right
axis 2: libertarian vs authoritarian on social issues.
then you arguably need another axis to consider things such as foreign policy/intervention etc.

According to chart I am libertarian-left, somewhat like Dalai Lama, Noam Chomsky and Ghandi! Oddly, I do not consider myself a lefty (economically) - centre left at best - but I am so far to the left of the labour party according to the results! If any one is interested, you could try this test, its only 5 mins and could tell you were you really stand.
Its shocking how there are so few real left wing parties in mainstream politics. What the website says is right - Blair was further right than pre-Thatcher Conservatives.

Funny I thought the less well of areas tended to vote left wing, hence why Newham has a Labour MP and Huntingdon doesn't.frankbutcher wrote: The thing about socialists is that they don't practice what they preach. If they lived on a council estate full of asylum seekers, people sponging off the state, violent crimimals and hoodies, they might feel the same way as a lot of people.
Also funny how you have such empathy for people on council estates - thought you was a golf playing banker from Totteridge
Bit of an odd target for blame seeing Britain hasn't had a government you could call socialist since about 1970, taking into account Blair was further to the right than Edward Heath or McMillan on most things and the 1974-79 Labour government had free market economics forced on it by the IMF and needed a pact with the Liberals.Socialists have fucked this country.
Despite the number of refugees that the UK takes in per capita isn't remotely exceptional - even among EU members, let alone globallyAsylum in un-sustainable numbers has raped the UK of it's identity.

Is that why they invaded three muslim countries in the last 10 years? They don't want to fuck off Muslims etc.
Labour left office in 1979 with 1.4 million unemployed - it's never been as low as that since.Socialists have also encouraged a generation of illiterate scum that live off of the state and merely detract from it. That's the thing about socialists - they bribe people to vote for them.
Every post war landmark figure for unemployment: 1 million, 2 million, 3 million - was reached under a Tory government. It's the Tories during 1979-90 that normalised a situation of over 2 million unemployed in the UK.
When the money runs out they are fucked and they then sit in the shadows criticising the Tories for cutting services. It's called balancing the books. Socialists are c@nts.![]()
Judging by this table the Tories have had no greater historical success for balancing the books than Labour
http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog ... owing-data#
Judging by the Tories very poor figures for growth their plan for 'balancing the books' doesn't seem to be working.
It's the equivalent of the firemen turning up to a chip pan fire and throwing water on it. Then when the fire gets worse turn around and say 'well the fire already started before we turned up so don't blame us'.
Take it you flunked the Politics degree.
Also, looks like it's you on the right who is outnumbered and outgunned on this forum. Come on you reds!

You're just pissed off that the Tories have pissed on your bonfire. I reckon you're a disabled, homosexual muslim, who is here claiming asylum. Now your benefits have been cut, you may need to go back to where you came from.
Fuck off back to the Lane.

The socialists (New Labour?
) bribe people? And Thatcher's council house sell off/sale of British assets in the form of share issues, and others were what exactly?
Each party looks at a sizeable constituency of stable support, then outside of this they try to find ways to garner popular support - at least enough to win elections.
