He's more than 'the best of a poor bunch'!! The lad, although still very young, has proven since getting into the first team that he is a quality keeper. He just happens to be handicapped by playing behind the worst Arsenal defence in living memory. Yesterday's mistake aside, he has been playing out of his skin so far this season and it's thanks mainly to the Pole that we're as high in the table as we currently sit!!
im with IHH on this. chesney made save after save yesterday before he conceded that bad goal but the guy is been made to work bloody harder then he should with the fucking way we defend as a team.

Absolutely spot on Szczesny has been outstanding since the start of the season in spite of playing with the rubbish that masquerades as our defence! In the last year he has developed so much and is now already a very good goalkeeper. What people have to realise is that he is very young for a goalkeeper and will make mistakes, but he is learning in every game that he plays and will continue to develop as he gets more experience. What impresses me most about him is his singlemindedness and focus and you can be sure he won't beat himself up about the mistake yesterday. Up until then he'd made 3 fantastic saves that had kept us in the game. I can genuinely see him being one of the top 5 goalkeepers in the world within the next 3-4 years. In the meantime he will continue to improve, but also make the odd mistake as all GKs do. I just hope we can keep hold of him!
Indeed, his positioning was spot on until it quickly swung in the corner. Maybe he should have anticipated it better, but with these new balls its tough.
How anyone can question him is beyond me. Name one goal besides the one yesterday he's been at fault for??

the ball went straight at him.....his confidence is slowly turning into arrogance,im not a massive fan but yeah hes the best of a very bad bunch and we should of got steklenberg when we had the chance.
I rate Shezza very highly and confidence in a young keeper is a good thing.
He reminds me of Schmeichel the way he spreads himself when one on one with attackers.
But I reckon hes a bit suspect on shots from outside the box and free kicks.
Having said that he has to be given a chance and I reckon with the proper coaching he could become a truly great keeper.
Shez is a fucking top quality goalkeeper, no doubt.
How many time can a striker give the ball away and it be forgotten about! where as a GK makes one mistake and its remembered!!
Maybe Shez could have done better but the defending that led up to the second goal yesterday was horrific, they threw it into a free man inside of the 18 yard box ffs! And besides all the best goalkeepers make the odd mistake so don't even start getting on his back.
