The Banner

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

That's a very valid point, and one I agree with, even if I myself am guilty at times of having a go at people.

What I would say is that I think most people, myself included, do not act in real life as they do on this forum. This place functions for many as a 'release', somewhere to blow off steam, and thus the atmosphere is more confrontational and aggressive than you would expect -- I certainly can't imagine some posters functioning in the real world if they act as if they post
Fuck off! Meet me in The Bodhran!

Looks like there may be media exposure in the near future. Watch this space.

My agreeing or disagreeing with that sentiment (on this occasion) depends on who it is aimed at TS - my reading of it last night was that our dinosaur threw a hissy fit (maybe with some genuine concerns) and started the insults and his response to our resident brazilian was childish and disrespectful  Like you I could maybe understand why he might feel that way but the manner of his responses was out of order but is in line with responses from other fans who object to criticism of the club/manager regardless of akb status of said members

The bottom line is that right now most of us will admit that change is very much needed and regardless of whether I believe that one banner is the way to go or not I will still tip my head to swl for getting up off his arse and doing something and at the same time showing respect to wenger also 8) Sometimes (most of the time) I find it hard to show respect to a man who is, brick by brick, dismantling our club and dragging it down to a level that I havent seen for the last 25 years or so - kudo's to you swl

Thanks mate. I agree, and on occasions I too have become infuriated with Wenger, and said things in the heat of the moment I shouldn't have. But the first 9 years of his time here must be remembered, as you say.

The club need to know that people are pissed off and have had enough. Getting a banner like this on display makes it obvious to the club and the media that not all fans are behind Wenger and a lot of people want him gone.Knowing our club though, they'd claim that the words actually say: "Arsene thanks the memories, sign a contract for another 15 years and keep saving money. Here's to another price increase and shame on all you doubters."
So... what are you trying to say Perry?? I know that it needs to be displayed at a low point (lower than even now).... but please explain??? :? Once it get's unfurled, we all need to stay together around it, because the one who does the business will get total stick... it needs planning!!!
What I'm saying is that the people who don't approve of this sort of thing need to realise that their point of view is not the only one that matters. As far as I'm concerned, Wenger is a decent bloke but is now totally out of his depth and he's only got himself to blame. I think we need regime change as everything's gone stale over the last few years and any other so called 'European super power' would have given him the boot 3 years ago and if not, almost certainly had him gone after the shit we've been served up since February. I'm all for putting the banner up as the club have said themselves that Wenger won't be removed until public pressure mounts. Sticking this up will show the club and Wenger that there is significant pressure on him to go.
The banner will get publicity and rightly so, fans of other clubs would have been on his back three years ago. He's been given an easy ride for too long and the Wenger Out crew need to be heard. We just need to pick the right time to unfurl it. During a game that we're losing pathetically is always the best time. So, take your pick from any of the forthcoming fixtures.

Admittedly I had a few last night when posting but I didn't single out BG, he replied to one of my posts with Sarcasm, the 'don't mind me' line got me so it was my right to respond, granted there was no need for the Salsa line or mocking the work he does so for that I apologise but I stand by the rest.

He lives in Brazil, that's a fact not a racial slur, he shouldn't be stiring those up from the other side of the world, granted he has every right to be unhappy like everyone but he can't embaress us from over there (embaress us is my opinion off course) stirring others up who can is not cool even if it looks it.

With regards to SWL or Nick (if that's right) I would like to apologise for calling you thick as shit, stumbled across a post which said you were a club level bod, if that's correct then I apologise as you don't get many dustmen or postmen munching on the prawn sarnies up there so you can't be thick and must have a good job to afford it.

Peace and love.

Me and Nick are different people. 8)

But anyway, good post mate. I'll apologise as well, one of those things in the heat of the moment, no hard feelings etc.

Not really, it's better to apologise if you think you've been out of line.
