A prayer for my old man...

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Not religious mate but my thoughts and deepest sympathy go out to you and yours. From experience, I do know that it gradually gets better mate, just take all the time you need. Respect and regards.

My Dad died of cancer too.
So I know what you are going through.
There are no words to make you you feel better. Impossible.
But I can tell you that time will gradually take the edge off your pain.
And please remember that your Dad would not want you to be unhappy.
Pick yourself up. Get on with the rest of your life.
It has to be done.

Thank you to every single one of you. Your words of sympathy and support are really appreciated. It's been a hell of a couple of days, but our family and friends have been great and we will get through it. We gave him a proper Irish send off yesterday and I am hung over to beat the band today, but it was worth it.

I'm sorry to hear your mum passed MK, and your Grandad Gooner 4 Life. My thoughts are with you and yours. Find strength in your friends and family.
