THE GOONER ED IVAN GAZIDIS CONSPIRACY
THE GOONER ED IVAN GAZIDIS CONSPIRACY
Both want Wenger out - Gooner Ed for legitimate football reasons which he has expressed many times; Gazidis to enhance his power base.
Have you noticed that Gooner Ed has no qualms about criticising Wenger but will never say a bad word about Gazidis not even after his latest rubbish about how we should all celebrate that if Arsenal do not qualify for Champions League next season, Arsenal will remain financially secure; thats good news for him as his massive salary and massive bonuses are not related to on the pitch success or failure.
Why does Gazidis want Wenger out. Because the pressure will grow for Usmanov to be allowed to join the board-that means the return of Dein and Gazidis is gone. If Wenger is gone, then less chance of Dein coming back and who would you prefer to be in charge Dein with his encyclopedia of contacts or Gazidis who does not have a clue about how football works in Europe.
May 2011 Gooner Ed unequivocally endorsed the Gazidis review - a review of ticketing pricing etc about which not a word has been heard 5 months after being announced.
Three weeks later Gooner Ed denied he had endorsed the review. The idea that he could not remember doing so is not credible.
When challenged about his relationship with Gazidis , Gooner Ed went silent. Instead Mike Francis denied any benefits accrue to him Gooner Ed the website or magazine.
Like Gooner Ed, he was being economical with the truth. Arsenal Football Club advertise on this very website. in other words The Gooner, portraying itself as independent is financed in part by the football club.
And i wager that neither Gooner Ed nor Mike Francis will disclose how much Arsenal pay to run its advertisements or what percentage of turnover does Arsenal's contributions represent.
Gazidis cant come out and say he wants Wenger out but we all know he goes out of his way to undermine him eg his recent claim there is £160m cash to draw down on thus hoping more criticism will come wenger's way regarding transfer policy.
The most likely way of forcing Wenger out is fans protests- so the deal between Gazidis and Gooner Ed is
1. No criticism of Gazidis by Gooner Ed
2. Plenty of criticism by Gooner Ed of Wenger.
3. Arsenal through its adverising will subsidise this website and magazine.
Fact or Fiction? Make your own minds up but you wont find any criticism or appraisal of gazidis by gooner ed, he wont explain himself and will leave it to his mates on here to defend him and see this thread obliterated.
Whats the point of all this. It means editorial integrity and independence is in doubt and more and more the club is trying to operate like some old style communist state- all independent thought is to be crushed where possible. Arsenal may not be able to control national newspapers but it can control so called independent fanzines and associations.
Over to you Gooner Ed -tell the truth to your readers and don`t hide as you have been doing.

If Gooner.Ed supports Gazidis...and I by no means know if he does, but if he does....so what?
Gooner.Ed is the Editor, and Editors are free to take an editorial line.
It is hardly controversial that a fanzine/forum editor would support one CEO over another.
It is not as if he is strong-arming us to vote for an extreme political party.
Gazidis comes across as a fairly bland corporate type, not particularly controversial. That is I think, exactly how he intends to convey his message.
His public statements are dull, and look to me designed to cover all bases without saying anything cantankerous.
His recent comments about Champions League qualification were barely worthy of discussion, just looked to me like a corporate assurance that we have some cash reserves if we fail to make the top four.
Something regular readers of the Forum will know from voluminous USMartin threads.
We are old and ugly enough to make up our own minds about the Arsenal staff, and then discuss it on here.
Roly if you want to start a thread where you discuss the relative merits of Gazidis, Dein or any other future candidate for Gazidis' role, I would be interested to read a considered comparison.

I think the point rolypolybullshitter misses here is that most (all?) of us don't really give a flying fuck whether Gooner Ed and/or Mike Francis are somehow involved in some type of conspiracy with Ivan or not. It won't make Wenger buy the right players, or make Diaby or Gibbs better footballers will it?
Seriously who gives a fuck? Everyone has the right to their own opinion and nothing that may or may not be going on between the Online Gooner and the Club affects any of our lives one iota. We can post our opinions freely here and whilst that is not affected I really couldn't give a shit about this conspiracy bollocks tbh...
Roly, you have too much time and imagination. Turn off the X Files and get a job!

Back in the day I would def have shagged scully

Anyway our midget mod makes a very good point about how much influence gooner ed has on other peoples opinions - lets face it if he is supposed to be pushing a pro ivan agenda on here then it aint working cos 95% of people on here constantlty slate the yank. Anyway gooner ed hardly ever posts on here so really it is a bullshit theory not worthy of a response so please gooner ed do not dignify it with a reply
