You see, this too (bolded) is another oft quoted AKB jibe. Do you honestly think anyone here is naiive enough to believe that?kiwomya wrote:This is why other fans won't take this seriously. OK, so Wenger leaves. What next? the club will change it's tune and give the next guy 100M to improve the team? All the players you think aren't good enough will still be at the club under the same contracts that you hate.franksav63 wrote:Yes, being supported has got us so far over the last few seasons...Red Member wrote:http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/ ... land-clash
If the supporters can't be united then you can't expect the team to be.
This is a commonly quoted paragraph, from Headmember's link
''You are a deliberate fool for saying that people like myself should not voice his or her opinion about the state of the football club, if you are sick of supporting Arsenal do yourself a favour and support Spurs''
How many times do we have to hear that churned out... or the ''who will replace Wenger if he goes.... Booooo fucking Hooooo, he is a busted flush and the sooner he's gone then The Arsenal can move forward. Let him fuck off to his next project at PSG which he has been nest feathering for himself at our expense over the last few seasons.
The politics of the club will remain the same regardless of who you get in. If they club doesn't front up money to improve the team then it doesn't matter who's in charge.
If you just want a face for all your anger then it appears Wenger is your choice.
The point is; there is some form of financial limitation within the club – whether there is no real money from the Board or Wenger won’t spend it is something we can all argue over til the cows come home. So let’s just accept that there is some form of financial limitation, okay? And Wenger operates within that limitation. Any new manager may still have to work within that limitation.
BUT;
A new manager may operate better within those limitations than Wenger has. Wenger has failed to identify top young players repeatedly. He has signed young players that have mostly achieved fuck all. He has signed poor quality senior players too often as well.
A new manager may decide it is time to cut the wage bill and unload the chaff from the squad, freeing up wages for new players. He will most likely decide to change the playing style to some degree and will look for players that suit that style. He may be better at identifying those players that can be signed within the financial limitations than Wenger is.
For you to state that any new manager will have to basically inherit Wenger’s team and not be able to change it is silly.
Wenger has failed repeatedly over the last 5 years. That is half a decade!
We went from The Invincibles to the Unwinnables in those few years because Wenger started to believe he was a genius and his arrogance and self belief ran away with him. He cannot accept he has got it wrong and change what needs to be changed.
His ideas have failed again and again. His time is up.
