When should the banner be unfurled

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

We need to source tickets to a game where we are front row in upper tier. Block 6 will be impossible.
Don't expect banner exposure for more than 20 seconds unless your herd counts over 50 persons.

T-shirts sound like a good idea to me.

Ones saying 1886 not 1996 maybe?
Or In Arsene we Rust.
Arsenal FC not Arsene FC?

It's a tricky one now. Personally I would display it at as many games as possible. Sunderland at home, Chelsea away definitely, Marseille too if possible. This will show that the banner is made by real fans who pay good money to follow Arsenal home and away, in the league and in europe, and that we will not be going away until the situation is addressed :barscarf:

I have to say this but getting rid of Wenger and not Kronk will just leave Arsenal FC where it is or I could be massively wrong and suddenly we do buy world class players.
All will be found out but when he does go and nothing changes remember the next target is Kronk

Yes but that is where the Bear's banner is going. Would be disrespectful to intrude.

Got a cracking text today, from someone who runs a supporters club up north and grassed me up to AFC for doing the banner last week.

The following 5 Offical Arsenal Supporters Clubs Arsenal Manchester Scotland Coleraine Daventry and Maidstone Gooners wish to put on record that we support and back Arsene Wenger the Greatest Manager in the History of Arsenal FC 100%. We are totally opposed to the proposed anti Wenger demo at the Chelsea game. We the Wenger loyalists will make our voices heard LOUD and PROUD at Stamford Bridge. If the fringe minority go ahead with their demo it is going to result in a state of Civil War between Gooners. All FIVE Supporters Clubs will lead the Crusade in defence of OUR Manager Arsene Wenger and HIS Red and White Army. Please join US

This is great news really SWL because it shows one thing - they're running scared and they know this is gaining attention and is gaining momentum. A couple more bad results and people will be flocking like sheep to join the dark side 8)

Pic 2/2 on media stream
How the hell did that man ever get to be a journalist on a national newspaper? That article felt as if it was written by a stroppy 17 year old (big on emotion but very short on facts) and it is so full of contradictions. The passage below is the best bit:-

[QUOTE But I will never get those fans who want their team to lose so it means the manager will get sacked or a player gets dropped. Who on earth would want their team to lose? This is not a new brand of supporter. They've been around since year dot. But they still baffle me. There's some around Arsenal who think it would be a good thing to have a relatively poor season as that would mean the end of Wenger.

Why on earth would you want the end of the greatest manager in the club's history? If a proven manager can rise again, build a good team and lead them back into Europe then what could be better than that? If Wenger can't, then maybe it is time for change. But until that time comes then Wenger deserves nothing but unwavering support for those 90 minutes.
QUOTE]

The bits I've highlighted -
1. We don't want Arsenal to lose so that Wenger gets sacked - we want Wenger sacked because Arsenal keep losing :banghead: Talk about twisting facts to support your argument.

2. Wenger has shown since 2007 - 2008 that he is no longer able to work his old magic. That's 4 seasons and counting so in my book we're now at the time for change. But according to Mr Cross we have to pay up, sit like obedient stooges, put up with mediocrity but cheer Wenger to the rafters. WHAT CRAP!!!! Every time I watch Arsenal it costs me the thick end of £100!!

Mr Cross and other AKBs - Arsenal are in decline and we shell out far too much to watch our great club to sit idly. Especially whilst Wenger treats us with contempt and spends £125million a year on dross like Diaby, Almunia, Denilson, Bendtner and many others.

Unless we protest long and loud we'll have to put up with more and more of this rubbish

I would say that the deluded followers of Wenger are of the dark side, it's so dark over there that they are blind to the glaringly obvious!!!

This just proves that at the very, very least Wenger is responsible for driving a huge wedge between the fans. At worst, he is responsible for the decline of our club.

That must have been Sean who sent that. To be fair the guys a legend. Their the ones who wear those attractive black and yellow "arsenal Manchester" bomber jackets.

off the record your protest has the full backing of the Yorkshire supporters club. (in no way affiliated to the YASC)

I live a couple of doors away from a lad who is a member of the coleraine club. He was always a wengerite, however I was speaking to him last Saturday and he is now of the belief that he should go.
He would normally travel up to 15 times a season for games, but reckons the Dortmund game is the only one he will be going to any time soon and only because he had had a few drinks when agreeing to go.
I will ask him has there been any canvassing of the clubs members to validate this wenger loyalty claim.
