THE GOONER ED IVAN GAZIDIS CONSPIRACY

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

bit crude but to the point . you wont see gooner ed make any such criticism of gazidis even in more moderate language. but not surprising as club is funding this site in part if not in whole.

you do notice how gooner ed has got his mates to do piss taking because he wont answer the questions.

its a disgrace really but like gazidis himself gooner ed gets away with it.

is gooner ed being paid directly , indirectly or in kind to keep quiet about gazidis - unbelievably nobody here apart from me appears to be interested.

i assume you are another of gooner ed`s cronies by trying to change the subject. anyone noticed i was right that gooner ed would duck and dive. with each day of silence suspicions are heightened that he has sold his soul and been bought off - from idealist to patsy -what a shame but happens to most. no wonder gazidis is so smug.

Mate - gooner ed is as entitled to an opinion as you are. I don't see why you need to attack him so much for having a different point of view to yours. His Talking Reds column in the magazine is usually critical of the Club so I don't see how he can be accused of being a patsy.

And before you say anything, I'm not one of his cronies. I know him because I write for the magazine but I'm sure he wouldn't count me amongst his friends.

What you need to do Roly is offer to take over the running of the site and the fanzine and all the other bits and pieces Gooner Ed does.

Then when your in charge we can all sleep easy knowing nothing underhand is going on.

Until you do this i guess we're all stuck with Gooner Ed.

you miss the point. gooner ed offers no opinion on gazidis and he wont disclosure to what extent the club subsidise the website and fanzine.

masciss

you are right. thats what gazidis relies upon and thats why gooner ed is able to abuse his position of trust knowing nobody wants to do his job

northbankbren

never right? i was right about the chelski conspiracy. its why i made so much money out of it.

and now? as i said gooner ed ducks and dives and hides behinds the likes of you. his silence is evidence.

So Roly's at it again I see. Yes I know he's a WUM, but unfortunately some people will take his views seriously and that harms a reputation which has been over 20 years in the making.

I'll tell you why Gooner Ed won't disclose how much the website and fanzine is funded by Arsenal - he doesn't know because I'm the owner and I'm therefore probably the only person who does know.

Pretty much every advert on the site (including the one for Arsenal) is an affiliate deal which means we make money from it ONLY when someone clicks on it and then proceeds to purchase the item being advertised.

I'd actually be delighted if lots of people clicked on the Arsenal one and booked stadium tours or bought merchandise, but the truth is that not many people do and given the current climate (financial and football), I actually don't blame them.

In 18 months of having Arsenal advertising on the site, I think we've made about £60 less VAT, which - trust me - doesn't make much of a dent in the cost of maintaining the site.

The site is almost entirely funded from profits from the fanzine and how much longer that will continue is debateable.

Roly - If you don't agree with the way the site is run, can I suggest you find one you do like and leave this one alone? If you'd prefer to continue to make accusations which are false, then I'm happy to make your transition to another site a lot easier.

I've been a (part time) mod on here for about 3 years now. My total contact with Gooner Ed and Mr Francis are a few e mails (mostly about Miltongate) and a bit of an exhortation to let it roll but not get the site closed down.

You guys really don't know what you've got here, but you'll miss it when it's gone.
