Nas-er?-ri
Nas-er?-ri
So Nasri was supposed to eat drink sleep football. "his knowledge of the game was second to none" was a quote an Arsenal player once said.
Meaning he wants to play play play football night n day, ie not renowned for being a 'sick note'
But on the bench today while Citeh thump Villa!
Some will say he's being rested before the CL game
Others (like me) will say, would we have 'rested' him against the likes of villa pre CL ? Maybe v Bolton or Stoke yes
How long will he accept this? or does money simply talk and is the God for most football players?

But then we don't have a squad like City's.jaybee wrote:Others (like me) will say, would we have 'rested' him against the likes of villa pre CL ? Maybe v Bolton or Stoke yes
Seems a bit of an odd one to me this, at the end of the day Mancini picks the team & he has a shit load of players to choose from. So Nasri may well "love playing football" but i'm certain as hell that he's not complaining about picking up £200k for sitting on his arse for a week.
Still looks like Liza Minelli though...

Samir was buttonholed by a couple of female arsenal fans at a pub in hampstead shortly before he left and they aggressively accused him of moving for the money, he replied that our team had been competing in 4 competitions and had failed massively and that were about to sell our best player rather than strengthening and he felt we were getting weaker rather Than stronger and regressing. Would you disagree with what he said? Whilst money is a factor he is now playing in a team competing for the title rather than languishing near the bottle of the table, isn't being over played so wont incur niggly injuries and has a chance of success
Do you think he made a bad move then?

Hey I'm Arsenal - I don't care a jack about the fella anymore.
I'm not saying he was wrong to 'look after himself' but RVP could have done the same.
I call RVP loyal - some would say stupid....
I agree that Citeh can prob field 2 different teams who could beat us at the moment.
Good on those ladies for challenging him - yes he was greedy.
Why you gonna blow him a frgn kiss when he returns to the Emirates?

Rooney sat on the bench today. As did Nani and Hernandez
If we had a fucking squad we could rest players
And if you think RVP will sign a new contract dream on

You're right re our lack of depth, we can't afford to rest anyone (even without the injuries) - so is there a march tomorrow?

I completely agree with you re: Nasri but not Cesc, he showed us loyality beyond belief while he wasted valuable years of his career waiting for Arsene to pull his finger out.jaybee wrote:Even if he doesn't re-sign in June, he's still put in the years, far more than Cesc and certainly Nasri have done. So he'll still be classed as loyal, up there with TH and DB10, no questionDan_85 wrote:We'll see about that in June...jaybee wrote:I call RVP loyal - some would say stupid....
Cesc made he debut during the 03/04 season which if memory serves me correctly was before we signed RVP. So if RVP sods off at the end of the season they will have served equal amount of time.
Regarding the RvP contract issue, a couple of the AFC programme team have mentioned on twitter that he'll have "positive news" about the situation in tomorrow's programme notes.
Load of spin as usual I reckon though. I expect this positive news to be something along the lines of "I love Arsenal & am fully committed to helping us win trophies." Yada yada yada, soundbite soundbite, heard it all before....
