Mackems footy thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Ahh, reminds me of the other week when, according to folk on here, we were gonna smash Olympiakos "4 or 5 nil"

Oh yippee, match day, I can hardly contain my excitement
We're going to get absolutely fucking destroyed
I might have to make a Steve Bruce banner after this one- I'll probably dispense with the thanks for the memories bit mind (since he hasnt given us any good ones). Maybe I'll knock one up with "hoo, Bruce, you fucking fat geordie knacker, thanks for selling our few good players, replacing them with plodders and making us boring as fuck to watch and fucking shite- dont bother to blame other people, just fucking fuck off you mediocre prick". Might cost a bit to get it made like, but it would be worth it- we've got one good player now and he's only on loan (and cant play today), thanks a lot Bruce, great progress

Decided not to come up for the game, even tho I have tix. Don't want to sit through another mediocre performance and get really frustrated by pretty much everything!

that sunderland chance epitomises us really. playing the ball around going absolutely nowhere, give it away cheaply and nearly concede.
sunderland not even having to work for chances

Not really surprising. People are being asked for upwards of £45 to watch that shit.

It'd be different if they were investing it in the team but we're paying the highest prices in europe to watch a failing team and our money is sitting in the club accounts doing fuck all.

Of course there is booing, we're playing a poor team and are not winning, yet again! It's the same in most games, we dominate possession but don't create and take clear cut chances. It's fucking depressing. NOTHING ever changes at Arsenal and that's the big problem.

Sunderland have had a couple of excellent chances to take the lead and we're still knocking the ball about in midfield before losing it in the final third. Great start, really unlucky not to go 2-0 up (van Persie's chip would have been mentioned in the same breath as Bergkamps against Leverkusen had it gone in) but basically it's the same old story all over again. Sunderland didn't have to even work hard to equalize and as soon as they did our heads dropped and they were galvanized by it. They should be in front.

Let's hope another half time rollicking from Rice inspires them because let's face it, that kind of team talk won't come from the great one.

maybe our local Sunderland fan on here will change his views on Arsenal, because he keeps saying Arsenal will finish top 6, while i keep saying at best bottom half. we'll see what the 2nd half brings...
