Anti Virus Software (Now NSFW!!)

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Anti Virus Software (Now NSFW!!)

Post by rodders999 »

The 18 month free McAfee anti virus software I got when I bought my laptop expires on Friday and I don't fancy forking out 60 odd quid to renew it.

I'm pretty sure I saw a thread on here ages back (which I've tried searching for but can't find :banghead: ) where some of you lot said you were using free software off the net that does the job just as good.

So just wondering what advice you have?

(I will decorate this thread in tits once my problem is solved as incentive for help!!)

Cheers DB10.

Before I cover this thread in massive mammaries the free version doesn't have a tick next to shopping and banking which I'd do a bit of. Should I be shitless entering credit card nymbers/bank details from now on?

Same with that Avast one Flash, nothing next to online shopping/banking. Apple already let my credit card get hacked so I'm nervous of it saying that.

Well ive never had a problem with being hacked over the net. In theory if you scan daily/weekly and you dont enter your cards into snide sites or in phishing scams you should be ok. I dont think any virus checker is 100% perfect even McAfee

What you want is a combination.
AVG anti virus
Adware for trojans.
Zone alarm to control who is allowed on your Lap top.

All are free and i have found them very effective.

If you keep giving your CC details to PORN and Escort agencies sites you are asking for trouble

Rebel said you used those sites all the time and there was never any problems Baz, how was I to know

Cheers for all the help guys, I'll try those out when I get home. Can't post any breasts till I get home as the Gestapo IT department at work filter out all the good sites/pictures. :banghead:

AVG for virus and doing a big scan

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware for scanning against shit that websites give you because anti-viruses are shit for getting Malware.

Also i use NoScript Addon to block all script that runs off webpages as most if not all webpages hide script. For example on this site there is a google script that collects your data and a thing called viglink that is again tracking data for advertisments etc.

Best one - for those using Microsoft - is Microsoft Security Essentials, does everything and is free as long as your system is running Microsoft.

ps: More TITS please! :-P :D
