Henry’s words are not befitting of an Arsenal captain (13/6)
usual thread starter... Th14's a tease isn't he? and frankly, i can do without his ambiguous comments. just come out and say you are happy at arsenal and have no desire to leave. then any story about other clubs being interested in buying you may be true, but pointless. who wouldn't want thierry? what's important is the 100% commitment of the captain to the club. we are trying to attract big names aren't we? henry's 'maybe i will maybe i won't' is hardly helping the cause...

One thing i dont understand is how Henry is being allowed to get away with it. Any other club would give a warning to the player, specially since he is the captain. Whatever goes on behind the doors, you keep your mouth shut. I can only think of 2 reasons why either Arsene or the board has not warned Henry. Either they have given up on him staying and are looking at offers from different clubs at the back or they are too scared to make him mad and are trying to appease him which is even worse.

I have a horrible suspicion that Arsene has recognised that Henry is not the ideal captain for his young team - which will have been reinforced by Henry's inappropriate recent comments. I also suspect it would be a loss of face for Henry if he was demoted in favour of (for me) Gilberto, in which case he would see leaving and feeling wanted by another big club as an honourable way out. I have adored watching Thierry and he has enriched our footballing lives for many years, so I hope I'm wrong...
