Violence and a last gasp equaliser

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Violence and a last gasp equaliser

Post by EL-Z »

What more could you possibly want. Well im a selfish prick and we really needed 3 points today so im not all too chuffed with one. On a more serious and harrowing note it bothered me too see so much violence outside the away end courtesy of the classless scum from brum. I was unfortunate to be subjected to quite bit of verbal abuse and some attempted physical abuse which ended very amusingly when the fans who attempted to attack me were utterly beat down by the boys in blue while i casually stood there and had a smoke lol. But seriously it wasnt funny, the chants were fucking disgusting, the violence was unecessary and im glad our police reacted with such speed and aggression cause if they hadnt it would have been alot nastier.

Always thought well of Villa and reckoned the dross in Birmingham supported City - and not because of last week - always thought that. Guess I was wrong. :(

to be honest, i was at outside the away end, and it was mainly arsenal boys starting trouble when i was there. quite a few villa lads obliged and it looked at one point that it was really going to go, but the police did step in.

Villa fans were mental in the 70s and 80s they tried to take the North Bank once, a bloke I know had his leg broken when the crowd surged and he got trapped.

This is a peice written by the guy who used to write the 'Mr. Agreeable' column in the Melodymaker magazine.

[quote] One wonders if our base visitors today from the North, from the regrettable municipality of Birmingham, understood any of this. I must say in their defence, that I have always felt that there is a wonderful quality of simplicity about the “Brummiesâ€

That's really clever that is.

Unfortunately, as I've posted on another thread in this forum, EVERY club have their share of idiots who follow them. It's the way football is. The problem being that those "Brave boys" (aka *word censored*) like to pick their fights on the football supporters who attend a match for what it says on the ticket - A Football Match. A bit of "banter" at a match is one thing, but for it to lead to a fight is unacceptable, irrelevant of who started it.

I have always said it, if you go to a football match and start/join a fight you are a *word censored* of the highest order.

Now somewhere in there, there should be a good gag about smoking being bad for your health but it just won't come to my booze ridden brain at the moment :?
We had a good chat and a laugh with a few Villa boys outside the 12 Pins before the game and they seemed ok. They were old skool, wrinkly fuckers like me so we were reminiscing about the old days  I'm not condoning the violence but it was good to see some passion from our fans at last at ashburton grove.
