From the Guardian:
1.55pm: Thomas Vermaelen has resumed training with Arsenal and could be back in action within two weeks. Arsenal do have a defensive pickle for this weekend, however, as Carl Jenkinson damaged his knee in Marseille. Worryingly for the lad, Arsenal's medical staff are saying it's not too serious and he won't be out for long. Worryingly for Wenger, Johann Djourou may have to be deployed at right-back against Stoke.

Arsenall provisional squad: Szczesny, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Song, Frimpong, Ramsey, Arteta, Gervinho, Van Persie, Walcott, Fabianski, Park, A Santos, Benayoun, Djourou, Rosicky, Arshavin, Chamakh, Squillaci.

The win in the week was great but let's not kid ourselves, marseille are a poor side and I expected better from them but stoke will be a totally different kettle of fish and with the constant long balls and heavy handed tactics of tony "the bin man" pulis, I expect a tough game so i'll say 0-0 or 1-0 either way.

They must be fucking poor if they think this is going to improve them:

"Marseille are eyeing a move to sign Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh when the January transfer window opens.

this will be a tougher test than the sunderland game, and as we know they rely on the physical approach and delap's throw ins

so expect long throws, and about 6 or 7 players who are are 6ft 2in plus, to be pushing and pulling to bundle it in to the net

i hope that cúnt shawcross get's a lot of stick

Will Stoke bother bringing any fans this time? They only bought a few hundred last year (midweek fixture though)

I reckon they'll be more than a few hundred. They've got to be salivating over the chance to see broken legs.
Shawcross is still a C*nt, and only eclipsed by his gaffer.[/b]

We have a fairly decent record against these tossers at home, big game for Djourou at Right back, Kos + Mert will have been be as strong as Wednesday to see off the barage of anti football tacticts that these scummers pull out of the bag.

Lets hope when the ball goes off for a throw it gets wrapped in barbed wire instead of that towel that all use and abuse at there gaff.

This game last year was where it all started going wrong, Cesc got injured, missed the CC, the rest is history, need a win, any win, Mertersacker will have to show his worth tomorrow against Crouch and their tactics.

Would be tempted to play Song as a CB and Koscienly at RB which is where he will play soon anyway when Vermaelen is back to combat their tactics and keep Djourou out of the side.

Gutted to miss it, gf booked a night at a spa hotel on a Sun as the game was on Sat, it then got moved, careful planning gone wrong.

The only other 'big man' apart from our BFG that seems incapable of jumping more than an inch above their actual height!!
