Book bargains

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Book bargains

Post by Rugby Gooner »

I just got a couple of good books cheap from a shop called "The Works",and thought that I would give you all a heads up as they are a nationwide retailer.
The first is a "coffee table" book called "Images of Football" (photographs from the Daily Mail). It is £4.99,(reduced form £20.00),and as well as photos of loads of clubs from different eras,it contains some fantastic pics of the old Clock End,fans milling around outside Arsenal Station etc.
The second is Paul Mersons,"How not to be a professional footballer",(hardback),reduced from £16.99 to £3.99.

The Works is quite good for bargains. They usually pop up around Christmas time in high streets and shopping centres.

The one in Rugby is a permanent fixture.Maybe this speaks volumes about the state of the towns economy!!!
Come to think of it,the only other shops that are thriving are the usual charity ones, and a Polish mini-supermarket!!!
