I would agree with this, we hugely lack creativity at the minute. But then I suppose any team would miss a player like Fabregas. Whether this is something that can be solved when Jack returns i'm not sure, and we probably won't really find out until next season.

I've mentioned on here before that I thought we should have bought Mesut Ozil two summers ago when he left Werder. We all knew Cesc was gonna go the following year & this would have given Ozil a year to work with Fabregas & learn the ropes. But then of course that would have required us to spend money  :banghead:

Can I assume that Amy Lawrence wasn't at the game today then? Chamakh worked his arse off today and linked the play. I agree he is seriously lacking in confidence, but he is the sort of guy that needs a partner alongside him. It strikes me that people simply want to find something to slate, even when we play well and get a fine win.

well it isn't arteta, its either ramsey or wilshere. Ramsey has struggled this season, but before his injury he was showing vision + execution of passes. Today I thought he showed a glimpse of that.

Everton fans did say post knee injury arteta is not the same player, he to me, looks like a tidy midfielder, but If we were to buy another midfielder he'd be a squad player.

As for chamakh i didn't rate him, ever. I do not hate him however. He is simply at the wrong club. We need a striker who wants to shoot as well as having the ability to do so. I have never seen this in chamakh. Chamakh is only confident when heading, if he has to use his feet he is woeful.

A bad buy by wenger, how he thought he'd fit into this team is a mystery to me.

Is Park really that bad that he he can't even get a sub appearance?

Where the fuck has Miyaichi gone too? Arsenal bust a gut trying to get a work permit for him in the summer & he's vanished off the face of the earth

For me Arteta is bringing a better balance to our team when Wilshere finally comes back and Ramsey starts to show what he can do and maybe if we are lucky Wenger spends some money on a world decent playmaker and a striker I can see good things happening at the Arsenal .

Perhaps you didn't notice, but he was the bloke with number 29 on his shirt who was running back and forward to close down their centre-halves, winning some good headers against their defence (should have scored, I'll grant you) and dropping off to keep Arsenal in possession. I really don't see why he should be criticised today.

Agreed that the 4-5-1 really doesn't help us create chances, Chamakh sadly isn't in the same calibre as RVP when it comes to putting chances away and creating bits of magic. But the former was absent for virtually all of the game, not helped by how we let Stoke dominate things during the middle of the game and how we struggled to create anything. Look at the difference made when RVP came on.

While every player suffers from poor confidence at times, the fact this has been going on since Jan is out of this world. It's like he is playing with a Mafia sniper focused on his head who is ordered to fire if he scores a winning goal. I honestly can't see how we can justify keeping him in Janurary at this rate. It's rather sad considering that for 6 months he wasn't doing too badly.

Cork City Gooner wrote:Why are you comparing Arteta and Denilson ?

They are totally different players.
Arteta is quality, that's a fact.
Does he have the top quality needed to deliver the type of passes that we used to get from Nasri and Fabregas?
100% not.

but anyway Denilson's place in the team was taken by Song a long time ago.
I see your point but when Denilson first came to the club remember, when we went to Shite Lane and buried them in the CC, Denilson was an attacking mid. That's what he was bought as until AW started fucking about with him.
Denilson's role in the team seemed to be just giving short 3 yard passes sideways, and I have noticed Arteta doing a lot of this lately. I agree with you he will never ever give you the quality of pass Cesc and Nasri gave. Meaning we STILL need that class of pass unless I'm mistaken?
So the point remains: if Arteta has not been bought to do Cesc's job, WHAT has he been bought for! Honest I don't see it - we have a defensive mid already (not a very good one but we still have one). The missing spot is for a creative. If he ain't gonna do that then what is his role supposed to be???

Oh right. So far, you've questioned my football knowledge but yet at the same time, revealed your part-time comedy status by talking up Chamakh's 'performance' today, and claiming Alex Song has 'been outstanding' this season to date.

Do you do parties?
