I don't know about his first touch, but he looked dangerous throughout the game.
He was my man of the match today.
Glad to see the old Arsenal slowly coming back.

Importantly NO INJURIES!!

Just got home from the game, pleased enough with how we did today. :barscarf: was a step in the right direction. Have to praise van Persie, Ramsey and Gervinho today, all of them played superb, Ramsey is surely coming back to his best and I hope the Klingon plays like this over the rest of the rest, well taken goal, some great runs and did well to assist Robin, Theo needs to take notes. Where would we be without Robin eh? Quality player. :barscarf:

At the risk of sounding like a miserable sod however there was still some glaring issues preent. Theo, Djourou and Chamakh were dreadful today and could not have bothered turning up. Don't get why Chamakh needed to play when we have Park sitting there warming the bench all the time. Understandable we need Robin to rest mind. We also once again grabbed the initiative then let the enemy back in with a set peice. We still seem to switch off during the middle of the game. Chesney should work on marshalling the defence more, I also don't get why he suddenly is running out for the ball when it's in a very dangrous position.

But in all it was a good win over a bunch of thugs and that is a delight. Nice to put one over on Stoke despite a dodgy ref. I'm happy tonight. :)

I love beating those inbreds and today was no exception. Excellent performances from Gervinho(his best so far), RVP(we cant start games without him) and Ramsey who really had a point to prove. Theo and Chamakh were utter shit. We're playing ok against ordinary opposition at the moment, it'll be interesting to see how we get on against a good team next week.

61% possession to Stoke's 39%, 3 goals to their 1, 5 shots on target to their 2, greater amount of territory in their area, and 10 corners to their 1... and yet, BBC thinks that our win over Stoke is harsh on them, and they were good value for a point. We had quality on the bench in RvP and brought him on to change tact and inject something different to the game - shouldn't the manager and the club get credit for that, and for battling through to what was a convincing win in the end? Isn't RvP one of the players at OUR disposal? When we went down to 10 men at home against Livepool, and they introduced Mereiles and Suarez who took us apart and won 2-0, did they mention that we put up a good fight until the sending off and their introduction? Did they heck! Sometimes the reports in the media just make me laugh... just not worth reading! The bias is sickening!

Well done! I'm just pleased RVP Did't start,we'd of been stuffed out of sight. I did think before the match We may have had a chance, but you're on a great run and apart from one or two passes,Arsenal are still a very good team.

I don't where the anti-AW protest will go from here,he's obviously doing something right at the moment. having spoken to a few Arsenal fans over the weekend, there really does seem to be a 50-50 split,TBH.

If RVP does go,I think that would seal his fate,as I don't think your fans will take another major star going, but at the moment,he's,as I said, doing something right.

We all had a great weekend,London is a fantastic place, had a nice time last night.
Oh well, back home now, work tomorrow, have a good week you guys and as for the result today, like Elton john's husband,I'll take it on the chin!

Sorry, I just can't let this go!

One other thing - If Cesc played the same ball Ramsey played for our first people and pundits would be creaming their pants.

Glad you had a good weekend in the smoke :barscarf:

Long time lurker around these parts, finally got around to signing up.

Great show from rambo and gervinho today. Gervinho had a 100% pass completion too, is that even heard of?
Ramsey's Cesc-esque chip was quality!
And of course RVPs impact...no words.

Really want Ox getting a run in the team ahead of Theo though.

With arsenal not losing all the focus has been taken off us and we've started to creep up the table unnoticed while everyones attention is on on utd city and chelsea.

SAME AS IT EVER WAS

Post by Herd »

We struggled but never gave up WHICH IS A GOOD SIGN ,the same old faults at the back are there to see,but this wont improve until and if TV5 comes back same as he once was.

More important love it or loathe it we have what we have now until Jan at the very earliest so whilst the pressure to sign some quality should be made clear to the management the boys need all your support !

An out and out striker a utility defender and a Mean Midfielder and we are almost there (4TH PLACE THAT IS) !

Apart from the goal thought we did reasonably well defensively.

We are 2 points behind Pool and potentially 6 behind Spuds. We will do well to keep the gap exactly the same going into Jan. However quality signings are paramount to have any chance of finishing 4th. We need a striker more than anything but dont see Wenger buying one now that we have bought Chu Young. Need a creative midfielder and a defensive midfielder apart from that. Realistically I can only see us signing that MVilla guy if any.

Very hard to make a judgement based on motd 2 highlights last night but how did mertesacker play yesterday ? Am interested to know how he coped with a stoke team known for its physical approach and long ball game

He has been slated in the two papers I read this morning. Both said he was very weak aerially.
