Just received an email that my Bergkamp banner has won! :barscarf:

However, for some reason they want to change the design. They've sent the following image with the email:

http://fotopocket.nl/view.php?friendly=1025132835

My design is above, the other one is the revised design. They've asked me to let them know 'if I'm happy with the changes'. Now, what would you guys do? I don't want to come across as 'ungrateful' and complain about the revised design, but on the other hand, it's not exactly my design anymore..

Well done mate. Now, tell them to fuck off. Your design was selected so your design should be put on show.

I prefer the revised banner

In all seriousness, it really doesn't surprise me that the club want to meddle. If you say no they'll only give the award to somebody else. What do you win?

Well done for winning mate. I think it's a great slogan and it's nice to see the great man honoured like that.

In my view, I would ask them why it needs to be changed and remind them that people voted for the design, not for the changed one. Also, remind them that if they do make you change it, make sure that they add a question mark on the end.

Nothing, actually.
The banner will be shown during at least one game at the Emirates.

In the email it says:
"We may have to amend the design slightly to fit the required stadium dimensions or improve visibility."

Well, this isn't what I call 'slightly'. Maybe they'll agree if I can make the cannon smaller, so there's more room to make the text larger.

They did the same with mine but the revised one looks a lot better.
My original one was also the square and they changed the shape so maybe they've decided they don't want any square banners now?

Well done on winning Batfly. :barscarf: Not sure you should kick up a stink (unless you're planning to burn some skunk!!) because the legend you wrote is still the same. If they had changed that, then I would have complained. As someone has already mentioned, they've probably changed it to allow for a more appropriate shaped banner.

The rectangular design is required so as to fit on the front fascia of the upper tier, where the various trophy winning years are displayed.

The square design is never gonna fit, as the maximum height available is only one metre, so it's their way or the highway!

AFC did call me on Friday frantically trying to find a printing company who can do a job lot of banners in next to no time!

Fail to plan, plan to fail.

Mine has won as well  last time I checked I had 7 votes, I ended up with 350!!! Not too happy with the changes (why propose square designs in the first place if they knew they couldn't get them in the ground?) from the club but hey ho!

Why don't you get a free ticket for having submitted such a piece of art?

My banner will be installed at the Emirates tomorrow for the WBA game. I won't be able to attend or watch the game, so can someone of you who visit the game take a picture of it? It will be displayed somewhere on the upper tier, but I don't know where exactly.

This is what the banner looks like:

Cheers! :barscarf:
