what was Villa Scum singing?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I heard them sing something about Eduardo but didn't catch the Heather Mills bit until my mate told me in the Rocket.

That is really low... even for Notherners!

I THINK SOME OF YOU ARE SLIGHTLY OVER-REACTING WITH REGARDS THE EDUARDO CHANT. YES, IT ISN'T NICE BUT IT'S HARDLY THE WORST THING WE'VE HEARD SUNG ABOUT SOMEONE FROM ARSENAL.

ANYWAY, WHAT DID YOU EXPECT? IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT RIVAL FANS WERE GOING TO MAKE A DITTY UP TO TAKE THE PISS AND, IF YOU BEAR IN MIND THE FACT THAT IN REALITY - AND THANKFULLY - EDUARDO ISN'T GOING TO LOSE HIS LEG, IT IS QUITE WITTY.

HOWEVER, THAT IS NOT TO EXCUSE THE BEHAVIOUR OF SOME OF THEIR FANS OUTSIDE. STILL ALTHOUGH IT'S NOT RIGHT, LIKE I'VE SAID ON HERE BEFORE, IF ARSENAL FANS CONTINUE TO TURN THE OTHER CHEEK, DON'T BE SURPRISED IF RIVAL FANS TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SLAP IT!!

I didn't go to the game, and being at a wedding all day I've not seen/heard any commentary about the match.

With regards to the "Eduardo" chanting, I think I can speak for the majority of Villa fans and say it's out of order and that I feel ashamed about it. Unfortunately we, like most clubs, have some idiots who follow us and it only takes a few of them to start something like that, then a couple more of the chav brigade will join in.

We've had problems in the past with songs about Tracey Andrews (Her being a Villa fan who stabbed a Birmingham Fan in a "Road Rage" incident") Another song that is annoying a lot of us is the Paul McGrath song. As great a player as he was, we really shouldn't be singing about him being "on the piss" as a recovering alcoholic.

For those unsure of a lot of villa fans feelings here is a link to the forum I use to show you what we have been saying about it -

Heroes And Villains

You found a song relating to our player nearly losing his career witty ?

Over-reacting :?:  I don't think so IHH, the fact that he's not goin to lose his leg means that the Heather Mills analogy is not apt and therefore not witty and if the worst that was initially feared (which is probably when the chant was made up) had come to pass are you honestly sayin that you would've indeed thought it witty???
When Petr Cech had his skull fractured I didn't hear any chants regarding his injury from Arsenal fans, and would've been disappointed not to mention very surprised if I had, I think that it's distasteful and I certainly don't have to accept it just because it's sung at a football match, even when Alan Smith received a similar injury I would've never have revelled in it even tho I despise the hateful wee *word censored*, Jesus even the proper Villa fans are embarrased!

I aint too fussed they sang about Eduardo, its going to happen, we would do the same. What I did see outside was a load of overaged piss heads in their 40`s and 50`s behaving like they watched the football factory on the way down. It was laughable, me and my 63 year old dad stood there watching these overgrown kids going mental on the coaches as they drove past. They didnt react too kindly when we laughed out bollocks off and sang Champions League Your having a laugh. Couldnt believe it, another club thats says its big based on something that happened 30 years ago. Villa are a small midlands club with an average manager with an average bunch of dirty players that struggles to sell out its ground unless playing the top 4. Plus they all talk funny, fucking inbreds.

I thought it kicked off a bit. Didn't see anyone being ejected but I was the other side of the stadium... and sitting quite far back! :D

Small Midlands Club?

Lets look at our honours then -

League Champions - 7 Times
FA Cup Winners - 7 Times (First team to win it 7 times)
League Cup Winners - 5 Times
European Super Cup Winners - 1 Time
European Cup Winner - 1 Time

Irrelevant of how long ago that was (26 years) that bottom honour is still a trophy we have our name on, and Arsenal wish they had. You are right, most of those honours are from a long time ago, but unlike Sky would have you believe, Football wasn't invented in 1992. In fact how ironic that on March 2nd 1888 William McGregor of Aston Villa wrote to Blackburn, Bolton, Preston and West Brom about the possibility of forming the Football League.

I'm not denying that Arsenal have been the more successful club between us (Your 13 Leagues and 10 FA Cups - think I'm right?) but please don't come on here saying we are a small club.

Average Manager? Would that be the average manager that the majority of people were saying should've been the England manager after both Sven and McClown? The average manager that took Leicester into Europe with a League Cup win on no budget? That broke the Rangers dominance in Scotland with Celtic, taking them also to the UEFA Cup final where they were unlucky not to win it? With the exception of Fergie and Arsene I think it safe to say he is possibly the best manager in the league.

And as for our small crowds. Our average crowd this season is just over 40k (Not bad for a 42k capacity) - with crowds of over 40k against the following sides - Liverpool, West Ham, Man Utd, Derby, Arsenal, Man City, Tottenham, Newcastle. With the Arsenal game only being below capacity because the away fans never sold their allocation. So how many of the top 4 are in there?

Talking funny? I can't deny that!

I was in the green section upper tier where the fight broke out, i was sitting about 4 rows in front when it happend, all we saw was about 5-6 ambulance and stewards race up the stairs to where this guy had taking a bit of a hiding, he actually fell down on the concrete stairs and cut his head open quite badly.
About 10 old bill appeared and just before half time went into the crowd behind us and hand cuffed 2 arsenal fans.
The guy was strachered down the stairs, claret pouring from his head.
At the final whistle the police put tape accross the stairwell just before where it happend to stop fans leaving, presumably to get statements.
