AGM on Thursday

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The day he departs (by whichever means) will be a breath fresh of air for the club, and as it looks like he has no plans to step down, I guess that day won't come until he's passed on.

So in conclusion, I think I'll reward his loyalty to the club by sending him two cases of whisky this Christmas.
If what flash alleges is true, that applies both metaphorically and literally!!

Agreed. He kept remonstrating that we should "trust him", but why should we? We've been down that road before, and he's fully raped our trust over the last five years.

And after he mentioned that the summer signings were of exceptional quality, people should have been throwing their shoes at him, quite frankly.

The comments made by Kroenke are very worrying.

he clearly has no interest in the football side of things at all. I get the impression that if we finished in the lower half of the table but increased our supporter base in China he would consider this a successful season and probably give Wenger a bonus. :banghead:

I read somewhere the other day that apparently Kroenke has never sold any of his shares in any of the sports teams that he has bought into, and so Usmanov may be waiting some time :(

You never would've guessed that, what with him having turned up to two of our games.

So that's Dead-Wood who owns less than 1% of the shares in the club able to sit on the board talking complete horse shit, while Usmanov (whatever your thoughts on him) owns 29% and is excluded.

Gaddafi would be proud

If kroenke and/or usmanov gets slated for buy shares as investors in our club then what is the difference between them and the other shareholders ? :? Some while back I asked what are the motives/priorities of all these small shareholders (is it profits or football) and I got slated for asking the question but you have to ask it again today if these people are giving wenger a standing ovation :? As football fans surely you cant be anything but concerned about what is happening on the playing side of our club and if so, even if you dont hate wenger as much as me or baba or mikey etc, surely you dont give him such unconditional backing do you ?

Sometimes I really despair as much about the fools like this that give wenger such backing as I do when I look at wenger, the board and the team :suicide:

To be fair to PHW, if I was able to sit on the board of a company, talk complete bollocks without ever relating to or understanding any of those who we're supposed to be serving, yet at the same time cream millions of pounds off the back of it, i'd be well up for that

Why would he step down? He probably knows we can't stand him but why should he give a toss when he's laughing all the way to the bank?

As did George Graham & Ian Wright sadly. Liam Brady is the only club legend/ex-player still holding shares.

What this AGM proved is that the club is an absolute mess at the top.

Those boys on the board have a very high opinion of themselves. Made more off the back of the club than they ever put in.

Bring Back Pires wrote:Just had a report on Sky Sports News. Made some notes of what they mentioned:

AW gave a rousing speech and got a standing ovation, but didn't take questions. The biggest ovation prior to his appearance was the call for PHW to step down and be replaced by David Dein.

Some of AW's quotes:

"We want to do things with class and we want to be brave. I see a lot of fear and discontent [amongst the fans] and I understand it, but we live in a world where we fight with people [clubs] with big resources. If we're not united, we have no chance.

"We defend our self-sustaining model, and believe we can still win trophies and be successful with it.

"Do not underestimate the players I have brought in, they are top class players. The basis of the team and the potential is right. I am more positive than most people are - WE WILL COMPETE!

"Where we will finish in the league, I don't know, but we are ready to fight. Trust us, this team has qualities and is ready to fight. If you trust us, we will have a successful season".

AW also mentioned that last season was his most disappointing, and said that because they played 27 games in three months from November - Feburary, they simply ran out of fuel.

Kroenke had just arrived a couple of hours before the start, and was greeted by a muted reception. He re-inforced the notion that he's committed to AFC in the long term.

Many calls for ticket prices to go down if we don't make the CL, and lots of fans are also unhappy about our current league position.
Thanks for the report. There you go, the sheep have spoken.

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaah Wenger gets a rousing reception.
Gets to feed us more garbage about our inability to compete with the big resources teams (whilst failing to mention he earns more than all their managers, and failing to mention he has continued to spend a net of sod all in the market and botched the Mata transfer).

He gets to tell us 'we need to be united' but will be the first to dismiss fans on television when pressured.

I cannot believe the lack of pressure this man is under. This is like a sick twisted joke now. EVERY YEAR Wenger pulls the wool over fans' eyes, and they swallow it, ask nothing (not all, but many) and just carry on.

The latest charade is that it's all the board's fault apparently
Yep. They put Almunia in goal for 4 years, they gave Diaby his contract extension, they refuse to appoint a defensive coach, they spent £14 mil on Oxpot-Chambermaid, they blew their load on Arteta etc, they lost the CC final to Brum pfffft....

Wenger shoulda been heckled. He HAS to be made to know that the fans - the proper ones - are disgusted by his performance, his arrogance and his shocking inaction over the summer transfer window and that the fans will no longer stand for it.

At least, I'm pretty sure this is how it would work at a big club.

At AWFC?

He gets a fucking OVATION!

I'll repeat this one last time because it never gets old: Arsene Wenger is a complete, total and absolute C***.
