As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Usmanov is only shareholder who has stated public that he is prepared to invest his own money attraching world class players to our club
I like lamp.
I agree on this up to a pint, it really depends what he would want to take out the club in return. Also whether David Dein would be installed as the voice of the club, and take the hit should it all go belly up.
Personally I think that what ever happens the fair play system will have ways around it, and frankly some of our 'home-grown' talent(!) are not up to the mark by a longway.
The AST as I understand it have 1 share (though worth 13k). As someone on here stated the share deal worked out that they had only sold 99.9% of the shares. The AST have that missing .1% share the club gave it to them.
I was at the AGM and sadly witnessed what could only be described as a piss poor effort from Kronke & Hill-Wood. Ill prepared, abrupt it was a joke. At one stage Kronke parped up in the middle of a Hill - Wood response with a "we're all fans here... Errr we're all fans here" to hear a JCL who OWNS our club saying stuff like that was cringeworthy.
Hill - Wood displayed all the gusto of someone who had just come out of the nursing home. Shameful. Even forgot to ask the floor if anyone objected to Gazidis staying for another year.
On a positive note - AW's speech was calm, strong, to the point. He believes in what he is doing there but I don't think he has the right people around him. Gazidis and Kronke are not football men. Hill-Wood is passed it. Simple as that.
Although there only as an AST member / fanshare had I have had full shares in our club I would be scared...
I am not a shareholder, so I was not there, but have read and seen footage in the media.
I think Gazidis could turn out to be a useful character over the next few years.
I am not sure he is much of a power player in terms of transfers, just a hunch.
But when it comes to the forthcoming renegotiating of existing commercial deals, or forging new commercial partnerships, I have a feeling he will be good.
Just because of his long background in the American sports arena.
What we could well do with at the club, and I say this not knowing all the facts around the board, but I suspect we need a new David Dein. A sharp business brain, but who knows the domestic and European football lie of the land too.
To handle transfers alongside Wenger, and to be a sort of right hand man/sounding board who has a bit of distance from the commercial side and so can focus more on football.

Yep, I also agree with your point about smaller/individual shareholders.
For me the AST are the most guilty of joining the love in. They are supposed to be a kind of voice for the fans yet I feel they are the opposite, and are very comfortable with their position within the club. A meeting with a rep from the club once every couple of months makes them feel as if they have some sort of power, yet in my opinion they have done nothing that really benifits the average fan.
They are the ones who should be making the noise, yet they seem happy to just feel as if they are part of the club, and seem reluctant to do anything that may harm this "relationship" they have. I mean a supporters group that charges to be a member for me speaks volumes.
Until the larger groups like the AST grow some balls and actually question the club, what hope do the smaller individual shareholders have of getting thier opinions heard.
Have you been to the AST meetings then? If so you must have been in different ones than I have.
Yet again someone passing comment without first doing the research.
Fanshare members also had the right to attend today and 100 took the opportunity. I assume (maybe incorrectly) that you are not a member of fanshare otherwise you could have come along and led the revolt.
It may surprise you but Im not actually interested personally in owning arsenal shares. I want to go watch my team play, and have an enjoyable experience. I want us like all fans to be successful on the pitch.
Now can you tell me how the AST have assisted in any of these things? Or what they have actually done to benifit the fan who isnt interested in buying shares? which id say is the vast vast majority.
Dont give me the "Arsenalitsation" of the stadium line either because the fact is these should have been in place before the stadium was open, not two years after.
