I think Anton will drop it tbh. Its obviously (and rightly imo) been made into a massive deal, but Anton himself didnt seem to hear anythnig and I'm yet to hear any suggestion that anyone on either side definitely heard it and could therefore confirm what he said. The FA wont castigate the England captain on the basis of a youtube clip that could, for all its unlikely, have been him saying something else (since the start is missed, he could possibly have said "I didnt call you black *word censored*")- its been rolling on for a while now and I think Anton will be under pressure to drop the issue. Even if he does, the FA will still need to sweep it under the carpet, but that'll be easier to do if Anton just wants it to go away as well. If theres next to no chance of actually proving he was guilty of it, Anton might well think that its worth dropping for the good of the english games reputation. Hope he doesnt like, but thats just what I think will happen.Percy Dalton wrote:Anton Ferdinand reported to be makig a statement today.

Even if this ends up being all hushed up aetc which is what the FA are going to do....it's still good Ammo...safcftm wrote:I think Anton will drop it tbh. Agree with all of that mate, especially the bit about Anton F probably dropping it for a variety of reasons. But you've forgotten the biggest obstacle to taking any action against Terry - the PFA !!!! Gordon f**kin' Taylor will ensure that nothing happens to Terry, just as he has done his very best to defend Carlos f**kin' Tevez.safcftm wrote:I think Anton will drop it tbh. And the saddest thing about this is - it proves once again that top level footballers can behave pretty much as they want to because very little ever happens to them.

Though I haven't studied things to that large an extent, there are I think two important points that I've picked up:
Firstly, Terry doesn't deny saying the words but claims that he was only explaining to Ferdinand that he 'hadn't call him a black c***t'. Yet Ferdinand himself has already said that he didn't hear John Terry call him that and only knew about it when he saw the YouTube video afterwards. Therefore, surely that calls into question Terry's defence/excuse? After all, if Ferdinand didn't hear the initial alleged insult, why was Terry supposedly denying saying it for?
Secondly, looking at the video there is no doubt in my mind that Terry says the words he is alleged to have. And he follows it up by saying more cuss words. Neither what he subsequently said, nor his facial features during the whole episode give the impression of someone apologising or defending themselves.

I am sure the spineless c@@ts at the FA will weasel out of charging Terry. I remember when Schmeichel was clearly seen calling Wrighty a black b#####d after Wrighty went in 2 footed.I Hate Hleb wrote:Though I haven't studied things to that large an extent, there are I think two important points that I've picked up:

They investigated it and let him off because Wrighty did not hear it!!!!!
I suppose you are only making a racist comment if the other guy hears it - unbelievable!
More wankers hiding behind Twitter. You'll probably be reading about stuff like this for the foreseeable future. More and more people thinking they can say what they like without any comeback.

Interesting... but you fail to mention that it is all true because Terry is (cough allegedly) a racist cunt spawned by a drug dealer and a shoplifter by all accounts.I Hate Hleb wrote:Though I haven't studied things to that large an extent, there are I think two important points that I've picked up:

From the BBC - Plod are looking into it
The Metropolitan Police have launched a formal investigation into allegations that Chelsea captain John Terry racially abused QPR's Anton Ferdinand.
Terry, 30, has categorically denied aiming a racist slur at defender Ferdinand during Chelsea's 1-0 loss at Loftus Road on 23 October.
The Police spent a week "assessing" a complaint from a member of the public before launching their investigation.
The Football Association are also looking into the incident.
Some viewers claimed video replays from the match at Loftus Road showed Terry using racist language, while the Football Association said it had received a complaint.
A Metropolitan Police statement said: "Police were notified of an incident on Sunday October 23 involving alleged racial abuse. This is currently being investigated by officers from Hammersmith and Fulham."
