oh, theo..

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

after a relatively lengthy press silence and one half decent performance, bang on cue, theo's "giving it" again. why oh why can't he just focus on justifying his £12m fee on the pitch.....consistently?

Love it. Why shouldn't we be fucking pumped. Confidence like this is what we've lacked at times. The arrogant swagger of a team.

How can you criticise Theo for this?

It is not as if he phones up the press and demands to talk to them every week, though of course he has done some publicity events in the past outside of football (Mr and Mrs etc.) which would be generated by a PR company.

But these sort of interviews?
Like any player, the press stick a microphone in their face after a game and fire off questions so they answer them.

Give him a break, there's nothing wrong with them talking the talk if they walk the walk and do it on the pitch.

How can you not be happy right now that you have to try and squeeze as much negativity out of anything that might be seen as positive?

They went to Stamford Bridge and scored 5 goals, that doesn't happen, allow them the moment like we should be having now.

PS. I loved going into work today.

In fairness, Theo has gone missing in so many games already this season. Not just for spells, but for whole matches! So much so that I think he is extremely fortunate to have even played against Chelsea!

So maybe he should sit quietly back and let his performances do the talking...... Hopefully he can repeat Saturday's performance against Marseille tomorrow night and against West Brom at the weekend!

i'm a theo fan but have seen too many instances of him showing signs of improvement, then doing the press thing, only to be followed by a lengthy dip in form. puts unneccessary pressure on himself (ie. england hat-trick, barca 2009/10, blackpool last season, etc.)

Let's just try to enjoy this big win over our rivals and not spoil the mood by looking too far into these rather trivial matters.

I think we'd all agree Theo can say or do whatever the fuck he wants if his form continues to be good on the pitch.

Wenger states that Theo had been a bit heavy legged going forward recently because he had been working so hard on his new defensive duties.
And he's apparantly now learnt them....so I guess we can expect more like Saturdays permance from him now.

Is he even bigging himself up? Seems to be talking about the team as a whole.

So much of form is personal confidence...if he can talk himself up like this and really means it than its great news for us!
