Not one looks top quality or someone that will give us a chance of silverware. To be honest, I ask myself if any of them would get in the bloody Liverpool or Spuds team, let alone ManYoo or Citeh!!! And to think Wenger spent over £52 million. And then some people want him to be given even more money to spend...

If Kolarov and Clichy can play left back for Citeh, so could Santos.
If Lescott and Kolo can play center back for Citeh or Evans for United, so could Mertesacker.
If Barry can play midfield for Citeh, and Carrick/Gibson for United, so could Arteta.
If Owen can play upfront for Utd, so could Park.
Bro. Park vs Owen? Park looks like a pub player. Not based on Arsenal, based on everything seen of him at Monaco too!

Clichy has pace, searing pace. Andre Santa is Fat!

Kolarov is a quality attacking player with again, bags of pace and a vicious free-kick. Santa has none of this.

Kolo never ever plays for Citeh. He's started one game all season and Mancini will never select him again! Mertesacker would never ever get a game at Citeh, too slow. Lescott is far superior imo.

The one I do agree on you with is Barry vs Arteta though. I think both are average midfielders who belong at a Villa/Everton. Personally...
- Owen looks nothing more than a pub player as well. My point is if Owen in his current state can play for United then so could Park, who's the captain of a national team which includes Ji Sung Park, who incidently also plays for United.

- So pace is all you need to be a good full back now? Clichy has pace but zero tactical understanding, positional sense and intelligence. At least Andre Santos is good at attacking and has in two months already matched Clichy's goal record in eight years for us.

If it was all about pace, then the likes of Gary Neville and Lee Dixon would have been shite fullbacks.

- Mertesacker who was part of a team that trounced England at the World Cup is now worse than Lescott? The same Lescott who failed to even make the shitty England squad? Mertesacker who played 78 times for Germany and has world cup and European Championship final experience would 'never play for City'? The same City side that has Lescott, Kolo, Savic and Onuoha in it?

Sorry mate, I enjoy reading your posts as they're quality, but at times you sound too negative.

Wenger has done this with arshavin and nasri to name just 2 and for me it is absolutely ridiculous and typical of a tactically clueless manager   :banghead:

People seem to ignore/forget the fact that at everton arteta played alongside heitenga or rodwell who done the defensive work leaving arteta free to create for others - if you were arteta would you feel comfortable leaving your position and trusting song to be where he is meant to be sitting in front of the back 4 ? In case some also have forgotten this was an issue for wilshire prior to his injury too as he had to curb his more attacking instincts in order to cover for the absolute shite song :x It should also be factored in that when looking for that forward pass where is arteta supposed to go with it ? Rvp has no pace to go in behind and our two gormless wingers (feo and the forehead) dont make enough runs and more often than not dont have the intelligence to make the right runs   Arteta has been put into an average team that plays a tactical possession game rather than a dynamic attacking game that we used to see and arteta has fitted into that gameplan so from that regard he is doing just fine but personally I would like to see the shackles taken off to see a more create arteta

Sorry mate, I enjoy reading your posts as they're quality, but at times you sound too negative.
Again I see your points brah but lemme break it down for you.

1. Comparing Owen and Park is disingenuous and here's why: Park is Arsenal's second choice striker. If RVP is injured he will play the whole season out. Owen is Man Unite'd fifth or sixth choice striker, behind Chicharito, Welbeck, Berbatov, Rooney for definite. He is on an incentives based deal.
Like I said, you'd have to compare apples with apples and that means comparing Park with ManYoo's second choice striker who is.....
Chicharito. Night and day, and Chicharito cost just £5 mil!!!!

2. Clichy vs Santa. Come on mate that one is a no contest. Yes, pace is massively important in a full-back, it's the reason average players like Bosingwa manage to become internationals. Pace in a full-back is ridiculously important because you're up against wingers a lot and recovery from positional errors is what bails you out!
I am sorry but again: if you asked 500 neutrals which of Gael Clichy and Andre Santos they'd rather have, which player do you think they'd choose? Clichy is a much better full-back than Santos because for starters, he is actually physically fit enough to play football!!!

3. Lescott vs Mertesacker. I am aware of how many Germany caps Mertesacker has. If we take our Arsenal-tinted specs off for a minute lemme put this question to you: if you asked 500 Premier League fans, who were not Arsenal or Citeh fans, which out of Lescott and Mertesacker they would have, based on what their eyes have shown them...who do you think they would choose? If the answer is Mertesacker I'd be very, very surprised. Yes he has lots of Germany caps but his performances for us have been absolutely horrific (Ewood Park, Stamford Bridge, Shite Lane).
I'm aware the whole team has looked ropey in defence but to be fair, Koscielny (who I don't rate) has looked ok this season. It's a matter of opinion though but what I will say, is that Lescott based on what I've seen of both players this season, seems the far more accomplished defender.

4. Arteta vs Henderson. Again, Henderson is not Liverpool's first choice player. The comparison with Adam is more accurate. Yeah Adam is a bit fat, slow etc I agree with that. However, I still doubt whether Arteta would get in the Liverpool team and I stand by that. With Gerrard fit, would he play the holding role ahead of Lucas? Doubt it. Using Spearing etc as comparisons doesn't stack up because neither of them are automatic first choices.

The point I am trying to make mate, is opinion-based.

In mine, Arteta ain't good enough to be first choice for Arsenal. No way. I don't see what he does that Paul Davis couldn't do, or Ray Parlour for that matter. I keep hearing that he 'calms play' but I do not see it. I could be wrong here as I've said and he might have a barnstormer of a season and I'd be happy to be corrected on that...

Is true I am very negative about most Arsenal players but there is a good, factual verifiable reason for that (perennial mediocrity). You also have to ask yourself mate, when players like Phil Jones and Smalling won't look twice at joining Arsenal; why we keep ending up with cheap players? Do you not think their price tags are representative of their market value? For instance look at Park. Why was he so cheap? I ask myself why Arteta was sold for the price he was if he was quality? Perhaps it's too cynical to look at things that way, but more often than not, quality costs proper money.
I cannot think of a single cheap player under £11 mil that Wenger has signed over the past 6/7 years that has proved to be a quality purchase. I can't. Who is there? Vermaelen? Is he even fit enough to play at this level?

Nasri was quality but he cost us £14 mil!

Wilshere, Van Persie, Sagna now there are serious quality players right there. For me RVP and Sagna are up there as the best in the league for their respective positions. And Wilshere is up there as the best young player in the league for me. Chesney has proved nothing yet to me despite the clamour.

Perhaps you're right and I am just annoyed we lost someone of Nasri/Cesc's class and I am having to tear my eyes out watching Arteta pass the ball sideways every week!!! Perhaps I am expecting too much...

To be honest with you, I'd rather have Santos than Clichy, because as bad as Santos can be defensively, he's actually very dangerous going forward, and at times I feel we've needed a full back with his sort of attacking potency at home games against park the bus teams. I hated Clichy, as he wasn't great defensively, nor offensively. He had no character, no mental strength whatsoever and error prone to boot. I was relieved to see the back of him.

Santos could improve as he still hasn't fully gelled with his team mates and adapted to the playing style of the Premier League.

If you asked 500 Prem fans about Lescott vs Mertesacker, I'm sure many would go for Lescott but only because Mertesacker has hardly played in the Prem mate! That's what you seem to not realize, Mertesacker and Santos have only been here two minutes, and they both have impressive backgrounds, so who's to say they won't turn out to be class for us in time? Give Mertesacker another 6 months and see how he does? Kos didn't even look like a CB this time last year, look at him now! Vastly improved.

Re: Park, you're right he shouldn't be 2nd choice for us. He should be a 4th choice like Owen is for United then it would be easier to compare them. This is where I 100% agree with you, Park is not good enough to be the immediate back up for RvP and Wenger is a *word censored* for not addressing that. I have suggested names to be signed in the next window to back RvP up. Llorente and Cardozo would be quality, who would you like to see brought in to play upfront? You're right, our strikeforce apart from RvP is an utter joke and Wenger has done a scandalous job letting us regress so much in quality upfront.

Cesc is a massive loss, Nasri not so much. Another top quality player is needed to add the creativity we've lost with the aforementioned departures.

The thing with you is, you seem to over rate players who don't play for us, yet criminally under rate our own players. I'm sure if Clichy was still here, you'd be calling him every name under the sun, wanting him to be hit by a bus or dropped off a 500m tall building.

Good post mate and thanks for explaining your reasons. 8)

:?:

This is where I 100% agree with you, Park is not good enough to be the immediate back up for RvP and Wenger is a c**t for not addressing that.

Yes, top post Baba and by others, got to also agree with 1989 about Santos, there's something about him that I really like, I suppose it's because he looks like he's blowing out of his arse half the time but he looks like he's really trying, Clichy I had given up on, couldn't stand the *word censored* and was also glad to see the back of him, I also think Santos will improve once he's (if he ever) gets fully fit, can time a tackle well and doesn't have to go to ground to put that tackle in, he's also scored more goals already (I know that isn't his main job) than Clichy got in nearly 8 years.

Bro. Park vs Owen? Park looks like a pub player. Not based on Arsenal, based on everything seen of him at Monaco too!

Clichy has pace, searing pace. Andre Santa is Fat!

Good post mate and thanks for explaining your reasons. 8)
Up front I would like to see one of Llorente, Nilmar or Cavani brought in for us. Cavani might cost a bit more but then again, Napoli will be out of the CL so this might make it possible. Nilmar is a brilliant player imo, bags of talent and would be a good foil for RVP though Llorente would be even better.

Personally, the ideal striker for Arsenal, always said it, would be Karim Benzema. He'd be perfect in terms of his pace, his physique, his technical skill and his style of play. I think he'd be absolutely superb for us and I think with Higuain now back in favour at Real, he's definitely up for sale - but won't be gettable in Jan.

Nilmar, Cavani or Llorente in Jan for me. I'd take Llorente as Milmar's injuries concern me. If Wenger is being a tight git we could even nab Diego Milito on loan, Inter would let him go for sure....

Creatively speaking, I would sooner sign Mario Goetze or Arjen Robben. There is a Danish lad by the name Christian Eriksen who plays for Ajax and he is absolutely top drawer, but Goetze would settle in quicker than any I feel.

The striker situation at Arsenal is absolutely fucking preposterous and I laugh every time I think about it! It's almost as bad as the keeper situation, one injury to our decent number 1 and it's Sunday League keepers. The worst thing is that RVP is hardly bionic man like Henry, who played game after game without a scratch, this is Van fucking Persie we are on about here!!! He's due a major injury any time about now...

Nice one dude....

Oh go Ricky! Go Ricky! Go Ricky!

Someone else able to formulate an opinion more intelligent than your own, just gave me his opinion. And you're showing off because...errr....you're not capable.

Stick to tickling Arsene's balls and reading hymns and sermons to papa Wenger and let me stick to having my own opinions m'kay?
