Arteta

I'd play Ramsey at home where he can pick his passes, and Jack away where we need him to run with the ball with pace through the middle.

It's a good problem to have

Arteta played well today so fair cop there. Not gonna jizz over it though, pretty sure I watched Stewart Downing run West Brom ragged last week, and even Carrol scored!!!
He played well today but it was a depleted WBA. I'll see how he gets along against proper opposition again but he could only play as well as required today and he did.
Still don't think he's good enough for us bur it's a game of opinions...
G88ner good post btw mate.
Brazilian Gooner learn to read English please, you "support" an English club after all don't you?

We got Arteta, who is not that. Now what can we do, this team has zero leaders so we wont win anything anytime soon.
Yeah Barton looked great at WHL when the Spurs midfield were zipping the ball around. Are you seriously suggesting that he would improve this side.

Should never have let Diarra leave. He would have been the perfect CDM - strong, athletic and mobile. But Arseneknows failed to understand that having rescued him from being Chelsea's reserve right back, that he didn't take kindly to being a reserve here. Strange that
Diarra had an attitude and didn't want to fight for his place.

Whether you like it or not, Flamini was flying that season and fully warranted his place in the side.
LMFAO

Kiwomya you've written some Wenger-loving corkers in your time, but this one is Olympic comedy genius! Flamini deserved his place ahead of Diarra eh? Great decision that turned out to be LOL. That would be Diarra who's good enough to play for Jose's Madrid vs Flamini who can't get a game ahead of geriatric Gattuso ha ha ha ha.

Flamini was in awesome form for us that season, but Diarra was played out of position at right-back. Flamini hadn't signed an extension and should have been bombed out with Diarra kept. It ain't revisionism, everyone saw it. He wasn't gonna stay, he was always going to leave. If Flamini 'deserved his place so much' then why did Wenger almost flog him to Birmingham that same January? Absolute nonsense.
Wenger fucked up royally that year. Absolutely inexcusable. And the way Flamini left us in the shit to get a higher paycheck elsewhere will always make him a c**t in my book.
As bad as this sounds, he has been partially been forgiven in some quarters due to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yt9qQlyvL9w

 8)

arteta and ramsey are so fucking good that they make brainless song look like a decent midfielder. when song decides that he is messi and tries to go dribbling half the opposition, arteta is the man who keeps things steady at the back. he is an excellent passer of the ball and has the ever impressing ramsey pulling the strings up front. what a partnership.

honestly, i don't know what wenger will do when wilshere returns from injury, i don't know who to take out to leave room for him. rambo is looking like a better creator of chances than wilshere.

things are indeed looking better. we have three good centrebacks, two decent youngsters to steal song's position, and three good centre midfielders.

add some quality to our fullback and striking positions and we're good enough to reclaim the 4th spot
i wouldnt quite be THAT optimistic yet, but its looking better :)

I agree about wilshire coming back. he obviously needs to be in the team, but who do you drop? tough one to be honest. gotta drop arteta but then i think we get worse defensively.
i'm not optimistic, mate! we're big enough and have money enough to fight for the title, we're The Arsenal ffs, but judging by the way things were early this season, at least it looks like we're good enough to qualify for CL again, until we decide to actually have some ambition and buy the 2-3 top quality players we need in order to fight for the title with the manchester teams.

the problem is, how long have we been saying that with 2-3 quality additions this team would finally deliver something?
