FRIMPONG TO GO ON LOAN?

Post by QuartzGooner »

Paper talk that Frimpong wants to go on loan.

Should he?

Reckon Coquelin has moved above him in the pecking order, and what with Frimpong being a bit rough round the edges I think he could do with a loan spell, perhaps until March when we should keep him around the club for the run in.

Cannot see the point of him in the reserves or warming the bench.

Just as long as we have the option to recall him if we get injuries.

The loan option until March could work, and with a recall clause then it could be worth while, especially to another prem club like we did with jack at Bolton!

Absolutely. There's definite potential there, but he's as rough around the edges as a Vietcong fanny. I'd imagine a fair few premier league teams would have him starting every week. Only issue is he'll probably be off to the African Nations in Jan. Not sure how many managers would want to mess around with their team bedding him in for a month, then losing him for another month, then bedding him back in before he fucks off back to us a month later.

I voted no as i feel he's the one to replace song if he get's injured

But it would be a yes to a short term loan if we could bring him back incase of an injury to song.

Maybe AW will wait untill we go out of the carling cup.

Idon't see Coquelin being ahead of him and the squad is to thin to allow him to go.

In the ideal world 6 months at Bolton would be a good thing for him but we simply do not have the depth.

He should go, it didn't do Jack any harm and we know he has a future here unlike some others that go out so it can only benefit the player and club.

Coquelin went away and looks a different player, maybe it would help Frimpong learn how to control himself if he's playing regulary.

Maybe we should keep Frimpong and send Song out on loan...

First though was why was there not a 'who cares' option? He won't be ready to be a PL player for many years yet....

I don't know, he'd fit in quite well with a team in the lower reaches of the league.

Give it 2 years and we'll be perfectly matched for his talents.

We´ll get enough injuries so we´ll need him!

Exactly - will we ever learn ?

Song can't possibly play all of the games in that position, Wilshere will need a lot of nursing back to fitness, Ramsey and Arteta have to prove they can cope for a whole year after lots of bad injuries in the past two years, Diaby still not fit.

We don't have the cover to send him out. FFS, he's only just made his debut. The lad needs to get used to a season of rotation between reserves and first team. Maybe next year or if we add to the squad (as if) in January

I think that is a harsh judgment.

We do not know for sure when he will be ready, but he is already physically well built and has bags of enthusiasm.

He is very much rough around the edges, so a loan spell could do him good.

But remember how Wilshere was playing in the reserves before he went on loan to Bolton?
You could see the talent, but that he was not quite ready.

But a season later he is an integral part of our squad (when fit).

If Frimpong keeps his head on his shoulders, then there is no reason why he cannot be an integral part of our squad next season.
