I was (wrongly) accused of racism at the SoL by a deaf fucking steward and the police were straight up to my seat to arrest me. Was faced with the possibility of a 3 year football ban and a criminal record which would have cost me my job, so the police aren't just acting this time, they'll act whenever it's reported. Thankfully for me it was shown to be bullshit and there was NFA but in terry's case there's clear evidence so he definitely has a case to answer. I wouldn't want to see him untroubled by police when fans get arrested for it tbh

John Terry was forced to call in the police to clear his name after a doctored recording of his voice uttering racist comments was posted on the internet.
Terry was stunned when the recording of a heated mobile phone call from 2003 appeared on YouTube 48 hours ago.
The clip was presented as evidence of racist behaviour, and the posting included comments attacking the Chelsea captain.
The recording included the same racist phrase Terry is accused of shouting towards Anton Ferdinand in his side’s Barclays Premier League game against QPR.
It has since been removed after the intervention of Essex police.
Terry does not deny having the conversation, but the version that appeared on the internet has been digitally edited to make it sound as though he has made a racist remark.
The England skipper is furious an attempt has been made to stain his character with tampered evidence.
He called in the police on Thursday to verify his claims. A police forensic team examined the recording, and Essex police said in a statement: ‘We believe that the recording has been edited and the matter is now closed.’

Having heard the tape it does seem oddly recorded to the extent that the last utterance supposedly made by the England captain does seem tacked on rather amateurishly.
The recording as posted on YouTube is below and will almost certainly be removed soon, rightly. We feel it only fair for people to hear the tape so they can make their own mind up. John Terry has admitted that the recording as a whole is genuine, there is no more information as to why the conversation took place but the last line does seem poorly edited at the end to make it sound as though it is part of the conversation.
Be warned the recording does include some strong language from the outset.

Ferdinand receives 'death threat'

Police have launched an investigation after QPR defender Anton Ferdinand was sent a threatening letter in the post.

London's Metropolitan Police were called after the document, which reportedly contained a death threat, arrived at the club's ground in west London last week.

The Sun said the contents of the letter were so graphic that QPR officials did not show it to the defender, who is at the centre of a race row involving John Terry.

A spokesman for Scotland Yard said: "I can confirm that officers are investigating an allegation of malicious communication."

The letter was delivered by hand to Loftus Road last Friday, according to reports.

Ferdinand, 26, was the alleged victim of a racist comment made by Terry during QPR's Barclays Premier League home match with Chelsea last month.

The 30-year-old Blues and England captain denies the claims, which are being investigated by the Met and the Football Association.

I think it is safe to assume that the death threat letter was sent by a chav fan outraged that theit captain should be held accountable to the decency and respect laws of the modern world I think somewhere along the line somebody in that scum club needs to set a tone/mandate down to their neanderthal fans telling them that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated and is sullying the name of their club (as if ) cos after sending similar threats to frisk (swedish ref) a few years ago it wont take long before the rest of the world will know what we have known for a long long time.....the chavs are scum *word censored*

This is exactly why stupid *word censored* like John Terry need to watch their fucking mouths. I dont think Terry is racist, I think he just got wound up and shouted the first thing he could think of that he thought would cause a lot of offence. He's too thick to realise that whatever the disagreement there are some things you just dont say.

Thing is, he might not be racist, but hes a "role model" to a lot of people, including a lot of braindead, racist *word censored* (he does play for Chelsea after all). As a result, Anton now gets shit like this for the crime of what exactly? He hasnt accused Terry of anything, he hasnt said anything controversial since the incident, he appears to be getting a death threat for being called a black *word censored*. The FA need to come down hard on Terry to let him and everyone following football know that this kind of abuse will not be tolerated.
