The Eduardo chants

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

These days if you even dare stand you are wrong. Arsenal have done there best to try and kill off the Old School Support, I think that it is time for an uprising, though it maybe a little to late, the club may have already died....would certainly explain why it is so quiet at the Grove!!!!!
well said,, we slightly older guys remember when it wasnt so safe to be walking away from the wrong ground but when gooners stand up for themselves then its good to see,, my own point of view is i wish we were a bit nastier and werent so fuckin pc to away fans,, football is a passionate game and wasnt everyone happy when fergie said he wasnt happy that the arsenal crowd got to him 8)

Thank fuck there are some proper football fans left on this site. I was starting to think I was in the minority here...

Anyone who wants to politely clap along whilst only singing pc friendly songs and run away from away fans coming to attempt to take the piss on our manor can fuck off.

Just out of curiosity - are 'proper football fans' people who will look to get in a fight when opposition fans 'attempt to take the piss on our manor' and not give a shit how morally fucked up a song may or may not be?

If not wanting to get in a fight, and feeling uncomfortable singing disrespectful songs about players who have died (Munich air crash, as an example...I know they aren't all that extreme) automatically means you're not a 'proper football fan,' then maybe I am following the wrong sport, after all.

There were fans on Saturday that reacted to the chants about Eduardo and fair play to all of them that did. To criticise them for doing so is ridiculous.

Also, those sticking up for the few shirters that the villa boys were attempting to bully outside deserve maximum respect.

We all have limits as to what we would, or would not sing about, but some of the posts on this board are frankly embarassing...

Eduardo song

Post by Block 18 row 2 »

I didn't actually hear the Eduardo song properly during the game, only worked out that it was taking the piss out of him. After the game somone told what it was and I must say, as much as it might make me sound like a disloyal c**t, I couldn't help but have a little chuckle. It was fairly creative but obviously bang out of order. That's the nature of the beast though, innit? Hit your opponent where it hurts the most. There's MASSIVE hypocrisy in football but then that's the way it is and that's one of the best things about it. The rules of normal life don't apply for 90 minutes. I say the cut off point should be not singing about people who've died. racism or children. Anything else, why not?!

SAUNDERS!!!!!

Could not have said it better myself, I am all for freedom of speech and defending yourself or your pals if you are about to get a battering but some pro fighting comments on here are pathetic.

To be a knucklehead or to be not.

Umm....
