And to the bloke who said Aliadiere was not a flop and 'everyone still talks about his potential', ALL professional footballers have potential. My 6 year old nephew has 'potential'. Anyone can have 'potential'. Jeffers and Christopher Wreh had 'potential'.
You're either good or not. Aliasidere is shit, was shit, always will be shit. That's why he was training with us and not one club anywhere serious will take a punt on him. Shocking player.
I also don't understand this 'such and such seemed a good signing at the time'.
You can't use that as a defence of Wenger (a ridiculous one imo) and then in the next breath, comically castigate Ferguson for signing Berbatov. (what did HE not seem a good signing at the time?). ALL managers make signings that 'seem good' at the time.
Sorry but because Rosicky 'seemed a good signing' at the time, that in no way, shape or form is any kind of serious defence of Wenger's pathetic transfer record post 2006! His JOB is to make good signings. If they go wrong, it's his job to ship them out. Rosicky was signed in 2006. In 2010 I believe his contract was up. He was given a contract extension and a substantial pay increase. Though I even doubt Wolves would sign him right now.
When Spuds signed Rebrov he 'seemed a good signing' at the time.
He wasn't.
And though I agree Berbatov has kinda flooped for ManYoo, there is one flop that can point to a PL Golden Boot and a Premier League winner's medal.
I'd kill to have a 'flop' like that in the Arsenal squad any day.
They get Berbaflp we get Chamakh.
Go figure....
