Bendtner; The Leg-end

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I know that in theory the transfer fee for this danish lump of shite will go up with every goal he scores (assuming our plank in charge isnt stupid enough to take him back  ) but is anybody dreading every game he plays in case he scores and keeps this thread growing ? This bastard thread might end up overtaking the joe cole thread yet

Don't worry mate, even a lack of goals (which will never happen) wouldn't stop me from ensuring you are completely up to date with Nicklas's progress. Whether he be scoring goals, displaying a great first touch, playing, not playing, saving women from disrespectful pissheads, giving an insightful interview or simply looking stunning in a picture, nothing will prevent me from making sure you continue to be the talk of your local boozer, with everyone crowding round to hear your latest insights and all wondering just how you manage to be so connected about all things Arsenal

I've just been thinking about this thread tbh  , but I feel it's a bit of a misnomer....

It makes me worry about who's the bigger liar when you have:

a) Barry claiming he is the greatest striker to ever live

AND

b) Safcftm who claims he is the greatest striker to ever grace the hallowed ground at the SOL and the Danish team

yet in the thread title, it says the word "progress"......surely a great such as Barry knows and has seen it all, so there will be no progress :?

 I think if we're honest, we all think about this thread, and Nicklas Bendtner, a lot. To be fair though, I dont claim he's the best striker to play at the SoL, not even just on the sunderland side- he's nee Quinny or Phillips  But aye, he does piss on every other Danish striker to be fair. And yes, he has attained a level which means progress in terms of improving will always be difficult but as time passes he progresses through his season long spell with SAFC and that is the progress which is referred to. He might get better though, and god help all defenders if he does, can you imagine Nicklas Bendtner but EVEN BETTER at football

RIP this thread :barscarf:

Now that would be a loss. Not just to Sunderland, not just to the Premier League (which needs its stars to be playing in order to sell its TV rights- in fact with the 3pm pub showing ruling going against Sky, Bendtner is more important to the league than ever), but in a way, it would be a loss to every decent man, woman and child walking this earth, it would be the death of hope and might even signal the evil reign of Chamakh being able to take hold unopposed  .

And it would be the death of this thread

But the night is darkest before the dawn and the demise of this thread would give birth to "The Nicklas Bendtner Injury Recovery Thread"- follow every agonising step as Nicklas attempts to recover from the cruel hand of fate and take his place back amongst the elite :barscarf:
