As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Is it just me, or do you also get pissed off when everybody shouts 'Shoooootttt!!!!' when we get into the opposition half?
Surley by now people have learnt that we dont play that way, we pass it around and try and walk it in, and ok, on some occasions i agree, we need to shoot more. But i just get so agrovated when people yell shoot when we get anywhere near the opposition goal, no matter whos on the ball, wether it be Fabregas or Senderos p eople find the need to shout shooot!
Does anybody agree with what im saying or shall i just keep my frustration to myself?
I hate it too, they always shout shoot when there's not a shot on. I'd rather work it til a shot is likely to score than shoot when you have 6 defenders within a foot of you
And since Flamini scored that wonder goal against Newcastle last month, he suddenly has to shoot everytime he gets in there half, according to some excited fans who get bored when we pass it too much!
Dont get me started on this issue, its the one thing that really fucks me off about the 'new breed' of Arsenal fan. Every week at the Grove you get these muppets shouting 'SHOOT!' when the ball bobbles up in front of Gilberto, on his left foot, 35 yards out, with a mass of defenders between him and the goal. These people dont understand football!
I can understand people shouting to shoot when there is genuine reason, as at Brum at the weekend when Hleb was running clean through approaching the 6 yard box, but instead deciding to pass to a marked Ade, but in general people just randomly shout it out. Maybe they are just trying to fit in with the average football fan and they think thats the sort of thing we say, i dont know.
It's occationally funny, like after the flamster scores a belter and gets the ironic 'SHOOT!!!!!' but not all the fucking time. When Arsenal have the ball then all is good. We can create chances and score goals without just giving it a go from 30 yards and hoping for 8 deflections ala Big Fat Frank.
As a team we are sometimes guilty of over playing and making a pass too many when having a crack at goal is the best option, but hey thats one of the burdens of being an Arsenal fan.
