Music at stadiums

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Music at stadiums

Post by jedrow »

Am I the only one who hates the way most stadiums play loud music after the whistle especially after a final or semi.,normally 5 mins of we are the champions or some other crap.I want to sing my own songs to the team and show our support but get this bloody row all the time .this is football we are known for making up our own songs ,we are not an American sport like ice hockey ect needing an organ played every time some one scores or the like.Let's start a campaign for fans to be heard not drowned out by music :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

How about you start a campaign if it bugs you that much. I agree with you and I'm sure many others will.

Yes, it was perfect hearing that at Highbury in '98 after the Everton game. That was my first Arsenal title winning experience as I was a tad too young to appreciate Anfield '89, and hearing and singing along to "We are the champions" - which had, up to then, been pretty much owned by ManUre, was just perfect 8)

As far as after normal games - I think we should drown out the boos when we lose at home by playing 'Tragedy' by Steps full blast.

I do not like the music either. Should be up to the crowd to chant.

Bollocks to that, I remember at Nottingham Forest when they played that old 'We call it Acieeeed' track at half time.

Couldn't remember if I was at Trent Bridge or that field off the M25 Orbital...

Ditto. Another thing to add to my list on the Little Club Charter....was watching the Wigan v Blackburn highlights last night thinking how fucking pathetic it sounded every time a goal went in.

Having said that I would not be at all surprised if it was introduced at the Bowl :(

So what are you doing about the campaign you proposed in the OP?
