Actualy we should have seen Park a lot more than we have till now. I'm not writing Park off. But should we really expect him to stand up and start banging in goals if RVP gets injured? the guy has played what.. like 2 games this season after joining us from a relegated team from a pretty shit French league. Park could be the real deal but if he was signed as a back up for RVP, shouldn't he have got more games? I will call this mismanagement.kiwomya wrote:Exactly. You won't get a player like Darren Bent coming to Arsenal and sitting on the bench for most of the season. Its the reason we signed Park.Gunnerz4life wrote:If we are only looking for someone to fill in for RVP if/when he does get injured, should we be expecting a quality signing? Wenger will not change the system, so RVP will always start given the form he is in. Will a quality player want to join us just to sit on the bench?
We haven't even seen much of the guy and everyone is writing him off. Look at his goal against Bolton to he has it in him. People are too obsessed with how much a player costs.
Anelka?

Park will no doubt play against City next week. At the moment why would you play Park over RVP? A lot of our games have needed seeing out until the last minute so it's not really been ideal bringing him on as a sub either.Gunnerz4life wrote:Actualy we should have seen Park a lot more than we have till now. Normally he would have had loads of game time but nobody expected this type of form from RVP.
Jury still way out on Park - on this subject I can't see where any criticsm comes from. I still think we need another forward personally but I think Park will have a lot to offer still.

Anelka isn't what he was.

Would love to see bent play for us and I think that as a real Gooner he would show us more loyalty than some of the relegation candidates he used to play for

Augie,
Could say the same about Defoe - and he is far more prolific than Bent in my opinion.
Personally I would take Anelka if it were possible to do the deal - provided that he realised that he was back-up for RVP. He may not be as fast as he once once but he'd still be quicker than our other options. Plus he is still a very good finisher and has even turned into a better all-round player then he once was.

Playing for Villa and Sunderland versus playing for the Scum? I rest my case your honour!donaldo wrote:Last two seasons Bent 41 league goals Defoe 8.Not much difference IHHI Hate Hleb wrote:To be fair Percy, at least I'm consistent.Percy Dalton wrote:Defoe!

It's been a whole 4 years that I've been banging on about signing him on here. And that you've been disagreeing.

Rigsby,
I disagree. He is.

Donaldo,
How many games have each of them started though? Also, how many chances do they need to score their goals? Anyway, regardless of the stats, my opinion is and always has been that Defoe is the sharper and more prolific striker.
