It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

I quite like Red Member actually, but his wind-ups are much less effective these days.

The ones about sacrificing the game at OT etc were quite amusing, but the latest stuff about wanting Denilson back etc, is becoming more and more obvious.

Come on Red - must do better than that. How was the beer last night ? :D

no beer last night Steveo as usual on CL nights.
You should know that by now :D

but it made the half time queue for half time hot chocolate much shorter

hilarious posts on here as ever. some seem to think last night was my first game, although I have been going to Highbur/Emirates on and off for the past 30 years :banghead:

I am trying to be less of a WUM these days but some of the comments on here sometimes are unbelievable

so far I have been on here 2 months and have made the following points:

Wenger is currently the best manager for this club
We should be able to make the top 4 again this season
Spurs are going to be a big threat this season
28/1 for us to win the CL is a good bet
Song is a good player
Santos is a good player

those observations are based on what I have seen and all seem to be fairly accurate at the moment. For making these points I just get called a fucking WUM *word censored* on here

meanwhile comments I have read from you lot since September are

Fuck off Wenger
we are going to get relegated
Fuck off Wenger
The Champions League is a waste of time
Fuck off Wenger
Song is a crap player
Fuck off Wenger
Santos is a crap player

can you now see why I get wound up by these kind of comments?

11 wins put of 13. That is all

Red Member is a bit of a WUM but at the same time he probably feels that he needs to be a bit over the top in his praise of the boss/ players and a bit overoptimistic about the chances of winning things to make up for the negativity, of which there is a lot of around these parts! I'm not saying he's right or that the negative people are wrong, but I do think he's just trying to redress the balance a bit which is probably a good thing.

In terms of what he says his views are, well I'm not sure who would be better than Wenger at the minute, its hard to judge one way or the other tbh without knowing what money is available to spend, if the purse strings are tight then there arent many around who could fashion a title winning side out of the players currently at the club.

I think Arsenal will at least challenge for top 4, wouldnt surprise me at all to see you make it but the question is whether thats good enough

Spurs will be a threat (albeit one I think you'll finish ahead of)

28/1 isnt a great bet to win the CL imo, you're too reliant on RVP- if he gets a long term injury I'd say your 4th place challenge would be in major trouble but whilst a league campaign could cope with him having a less serious 2 week injury, a small injury like that could see him miss a round of the CL which would be likely to see Arsenal go out. The defence isnt strong enough and the attack relies of RVP too much, so I cant see it happening and dont think even 28/1 is great value.

Song is okay- played well last night but I'm not convinced he's good enough long term if you want to challenge the very top sides

I have very little opinion on Santos if I'm honest, not really seen him enough or watched him particularly closely when he has played

So if those are his views then tbh I dont really disagree with them too much, dont entirely agree either but I dont think his views are particularly over the top in terms of their positivity

Two top posts already this morning - you are off to a flyer mate!

This place is so negative at times that if anyone has something remotely positive to say it gets shot down.

Basic fact is that this is how the club is at the moment - try and enjoy it.

In fairness Red, there have been a few other themes to your posts that you haven't highlighted above. Yesterday's declaration of love for Denilson for example, but I think the one that probably resulted in the biggest explosion was the notion that the 8-2 at OT barely mattered. We all know how important the Udinese game was but to suggest that we passed upon the opportunity to compete with a club that provided our closest rivalry for a decade, and the club was justified in doing so was a little OTT !

Red WUMber is about as funny as an unexpected discharge from the penis. If anyone does actually find him amusing then the conclusion can only be that you have very little joy in your life!

whats your contribution then Rodders?

at least I can usually back up my points with facts.

when are you and your Wenger hating chums going to unfurl the famous Wenger out banner then ?

that seems to have been conveniently forgotten about.
then there were some who thought we might be relegated

How this *word censored* is still posting here is a bit of a mystery, though he is actually being a bit clever, he recoils a bit when he knows he has gone too far and tempers his posts accordingly. I would have thought the mods would have spotted that by now.
Ignoring him or just ridiculing him is the best tactic, rising to his bait is simply feeding his desire for attention.
