I don't agree with this "there should be one section" or concentrate on one section.
If a new group is started then that's the remit of that Group and not REDactions. However, cross party help would be beneficial especially long term.
My point is we had the Clockend and the Northbank at Highbury. Both unique end and wasn't in unison in chants most of the time. Can't see why we can't have the same.

Which other PL club sticks it's 'noisy' section into one tiny corner section in the ground, out of the way? What others have said is spot on, unfortunately, the club don't care what happens as long as tickets are sold. The biggest problem has always been getting like minded fans together. The 'singing section' happened one year....how many people want to sit in the corner of the ground? If they made the entire North Bank lower general seating, ie: you buy a ticket for that section and then sit anywhere in there, it promotes mates sitting together. Singers will congregate behind the goal, where they should be! 'non' singers are less likely to go there because they won't want to have to stand up every couple of mins, and won't like all of that shouting!
The whole area would still be ticketed, you could even make it ST and have general seating.
Songs:
What has happened to some of the old songs, some of the really loud ones? Even simple songs like 'Come on you Reds' when we had a corner or free kick in a dangerous position, that used to be deafening! I haven't really heard that for years! It needs a particular group of supporters to keep starting these old songs so the sheep start to follow. Sorry but REDAction have been a spectacular failure where atmosphere has been concerned, no-one can question that, the Emirates is a graveyard each season except for the Man Ure and Chavs games and possibly a big European night. Even the Spuds game doesn't get fans going anymore.
The only way the club will accept change is if it doesn't cost them money or if it increases revenue. That's the bottom line. It's a real shame but that is the modern day Arsenal Football Club.

Just throwing this idea out there for consideration, so feel free to slate.
Why not push for a couple of blocks in the CE where priority's given to those with a certain number of away credits - whether that's just the chance to get in first on a "pre-sale" type basis and/or maybe even slightly cheaper tickets.
I know that might not be popular with a lot who only go to home games (which includes me) but personally I'd have no problem with regular away fans getting some kind of reward for the extra expense/effort supporting the team up & down the country if it was ultimately to the benefit of the atmosphere. It's not perfect and obviously there's fans at home games who spend a lot travelling from afar (Ireland etc) but the pros should outweigh the cons.
As well as being made up of more vocal fans by all accounts there's more of a tight-knit communal feel amongst the away support and bringing some of that back into the ground should help compensate for the loss of that after the move & breaking up of the old CE/NB ST-holders. For anywhere to feel more like home first people have to feel like they're surrounded by friends/like-minded people etc.
And from the club's point of view, the all-important Armoury consumer day-trippers would also be left together to enjoy the sanitised "matchday experience" in peace without having to hear any naughty sweary words close by - which seems to be what the clubs wants anyway.
Plus, enticing back some of those away-go'ers who've given up on home games at a time when it's getting harder to sell-out would have to appeal to the club, surely. Win/win all round.
Personally I'd put those "Arsenal away" blocks a couple of blocks away from the actual away support, in the hope that the few blocks in between would get caught up in the back & forth and feel more encouraged to join in. Especially if those blocks were made up of old Highbury C-Enders as Reg suggested. The club/police cant bang on about potential for trouble cos these would be fans who have proven able to go away to countless grounds and banter with the opposition fans without any real grief.
Obviously it would raise a few logistical problems - a fair few away fans will also be ST-holders with seats elsewhere & tickets already paid for etc - but nothing that couldn’t be overcome.

The principle made sense at the time and admittedly so.TeeCee wrote:Which other PL club sticks it's 'noisy' section into one tiny corner section in the ground, out of the way? .
A vocal home section in one corner with the away fans directly opposite.
The idea was that the noise would generate around. No point having RA next to the away fans as that really would us one loud corner.
Sadly it didn't work as the sides don't join in.

Every point made has been raised with the club in meetings over the last 2 to 3 seasons and continues to be whenever we sit down with them. REDaction are also meeting with the club prior to the Man City game and will continue to press on the issues of safe standing, second redsections, unreserved seating, song sheets etc etc.
I really like the concept of the club promoting the 'singing blocks' more I agree that they have really only offered lip-service to the idea previously. We can definitely take that forward to them next week.
The whole block 5/6 atmosphere thing has definitely faded mainly since the middle of last season. I think its pretty obvious that its all linked to the general disappointment with events. Maybe the recent mild upswing has helped and the atmosphere could pick up accordingly.
Dortmund showed us what can be achieved do you think Arsenal supporters would suffer a 'conductor' or even a drummer (we have had problems before with people saying I want a drummer just not next to me). Even with the giant flags pre-match we get people moaning because they can't see the warm up as the flag passes over them!
We all know there is a long way to go but I know that the chaps in RA will continue to fight for the right causes and ideas. I know personally that I am not in it for any ego trip and would welcome more help from enthusiastic Gooners such as the posters who have made so many valid suggestions on here. RA are there already they are fighting on virtually all the points made so why not get more involved rather than trying to create yet another fans group, we need to unite and show a common front to the club.
I don't get on here as much as maybe I should but if you have any direct questions feel free to get in touch and I am sure either me or one of the other RA chaps will come back to you as soon as we can.

I was chatting to 'beret' Michael about this as he had the other flag. Apparently, following that incident the club won't have the flags anymore...flash gunner wrote:Can i suggest you get a new massive flag bearer too. If i remember rightly the last one (smoothie) had a chronic back problem that stopped him working and eventually dropped the flag on a photgraphers head causing her to seek medical attention

Like the idea generally but whos idea was it to give the flag to someone with back problems?? They must be hard to control by the fittest of people let alone someone signed off workLyusN1 wrote:I was chatting to 'beret' Michael about this as he had the other flag. I heard "COYR!" at the last home game but it was stiffled.
It's been said here before but it would be great to get some of those songs back on the big screen like before.
I do disagree with that RA has been a failure. From what I see is that they've managed to get a like minded group together and they start most of the chants in the ground. They may not all take off as I've noticed other sections singing but there are non-stop. It needs the rest of the ground to help.
I'm aware that they don't get the praise that they deserve but it's no different to how this new group is starting. This isn't a dig but if you want to help them then help! There's no point moaning about REDaction do or don't do when every Gooner can help.
