Can I ask one simple question, and please keep the responses clean and free of abuse because I know it creates a lot of emotion (the atmosphere question)

Does it actually spoil your enjoyment of matches?

I ask because it doesn't spoil mine in the slightest. Tomorrow I'm meeting up with a group of 8 friends I haven't seen for months, we will drink and be merry and enjoy the match. If nobody sings and people get up and leave early, I'll be in my own 'zone' and won't give a shit. If there's a decent atmos even better. If not I'll be going to Wigan and know we'll create a proper noise there.

What would irritate me no end however would be some tosser shouting instructions through a megaphone trying to co-ordinate some sort of manufactured atmophere. More dire than anything. Its a bit like going to Carling Cup games - the constant singing of "Stand up if you hate Tottnum"....that's not a laugh; its moronic

I've said this before. I'll say it again. The club fucked up big time with the relocation to the Grove.

It would have been simple to suggest that Northbankers sit in this area behind the goal. And Clockenders sit in this area behind the other goal. West and East Stand people sit in these areas at the sides.

Our singers are now spread all over the fucking place. Diluted by the fucking theatre-goers who sit in silence, and might indulge in polite applause when they are suitably entertained. It's shit.

Our away support is fucking fantastic. Because our singers are close to one another.

Solution...make it easier for our singers to gravitate to singing areas. The new Clock End and the new Northbank.

This would require an initiative from the club. A seat-swap scheme. Has RedAction or AISA or anybody else discussed this idea with the club?

It can tend to spoil the match day for me.

Sitting, especially sitting in silence, just frustrates me. The few times when I don't manage to get a ticket in the standing section I get cross that I'm not able to help out with the singing.

I don't have enough credits, or money, to get to many away days so I can't console myself with that.

Also, most of my Arsenal supporting mates either work as stewards, have ST elsewhere in the ground, or don't see the point in going to matches since it's too expensive and they grew up as 'supporters' outside of matchday culture. It means that I do see mates beforehand but very, very rarely get to be with them at matches.

It ruins the match completely for me. The reason I go to games is to sing and support my team, not to sit there like a twat moaning at everyone else for trying to get something going.

Also with the block 5/6 situation, there are too many people around there who don't to anything, i've had people moaning at me personally there trying to sing as well. It's too hard for the non-season ticket holders who do actually want to sing to get tickets there, it's basically impossible to get two together from the moment they go on sale. Like I said before, trying something in the CE lower is the way to go.

Obviously you can count me in, my day is actually spoiled shouting at the *word censored* around me who refuse to join in.
If you don't want to help get an atmos going then get the fuck out of the only section we have in the ground for doing so.

Honestly, these people DELIBRATELY choose their seat in this area to enjoy the benefit of standing and the noise without contributing a single fucking thing towards it. Winds me right up.

Getting us all together is no problem at all.
I can easily sort space for 20 or so of us to get into 6.

If you want to message me 50, then let's get this going.

Bang up for doing somethin about it
I'm prone to 'getting in the aisle' trying to get people up for joining in so give me some more ideas and I'll do it, couldn't give a fuck what people think of me cos it's for the good of the team.

Anyone who was with me at wembley will testify to this!!

No doubt about it, the 'last action hero' is defo is ginger.

Where was you then? Hate people knowing who I am without knowing if I even passed you in the street!! Don't worry tho, I could have been stood next to the cun t piers Morgan and not even realised it.

Me and noise were on a mission that day, topless I presume!! But so many c unts yet again refused to join in whilst milking everything around them. My legs hurt the next day after that hour of stair Running.

Fucking ginger slag after Brum scored the winner, I turned round and says to everyone " see, that's what getting behind your team can do" so she says " what'd you know" so I asked her " I know your not supposed to hit women, but does that include gingers?"

Stumped her that one did!!

I was Row 2, right behind the goal. I just know who The Noise is, and he was with a bloke (you) going apeshit at our fans. Found it quite funy TBH. I lost my voice that day from singing. Most near me were singing their hearts out. :?

some interesting comments on here since i poste yesterday, so two points :

1. if you want to keep a Military theme, i don't think you can do better than go back to the WWI local companies of men who signed up for King and Country, known as "regulars", i.e. the Woolwich Regulars, Dartford Regulars etc.

Hence, we would have the Clock End Regulars. you could have T shirts with WWI troops on them with Red n White bar scarves round their necks, with the "Clock End Regular" underneath. it's a thought...

2. Many of the suggestions on this thread are not sustainable - new songs, megaphones, choreographers, marches from pubs etc. some people will get bored, some people thinks it's a bit wanky and/or un british.

What we want is the club to take action to make positive, long term, improvements in the fans match going experience to produce more atmosphere.

It seems to me than we all agree the following :

a) move the away support
b) move the Family Enclosure
c) a reallocation of Clock End season ticket holders

now, it seems that a lot of people think c) can't be done, but i'd argue that this is only a matter of a computer changing seats - as they do for every single FA Cup game.

I think we should unite and just focus on those three things - if we can do that, and show the club we are serious that would be a great start.

and the above, would not cost the club a penny.

Cheers.

Mark.
