Travel from Kent boxing day

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I'd been looking forward to going to this (read: getting out of the house) for a long while, but due to the fact that there aren't any train services running, I simply can't make it.

I looked into driving to Kingston, Greenwich, Woolwich and several other locations, to possibly get the train from there instead, but there aren't any mainline train services from anywhere, it seems. I thought I could park up in London somewhere and get the tube, but a) parking seems excessively expensive, b) there's talks of a tube strike that day, and most importantly, c) I won't be able to drink.

It really shows what a state this country's in when we've got three games taking place in the capital, Christmas sales, people travelling to work and to see friends and family, and yet no train service. Takes the fucking piss.

Got coach from Stansted to L'pool Street for Fulham game, then found there was no Circle line, so got Central Line to Holburn , got off and went to pub to watch final scores , first sip of my pint Midget C*nt Defoe scores, leave go to Sainsbury and they won't sell me one can of Stella only 4. Get to game at 5.25, watch the torture. Can't be arsed to spend 3 hours getting home so get train to Hertford from Finsbury and taxi from Hertford to Stansted for £37, but at least I got home in half the time.

Southern

Please note that Southern are running trains on Boxing day from Victoria to Brighton via Croydon, so if you can get to Croydon that is one route in.
