Frank , I reckon this just about covers it.
1. We’d like the club to introduce a two-tier season ticket. One would be ‘as is’ but the second option would be a season ticket for league matches only. This could prove to be a very popular innovation. Fans who are finding it hard to afford their season ticket would have a cheaper option, and it would free up tickets to cup games which are currently limited in availability for lots of supporters.
Those who purchase the full season ticket would naturally receive priority over the ‘lite’ version when it comes to cup finals etc.

Thanks for the positive feedback. the moment we get a response from the club it'll be posted on here.

Their response will determine our next action. As was emphasised at the meetng if ticket prices go up again they will be protests the like of which have never been seen before over the Arsenal.

We anticipate a campaign starting shortly to lobby the club to not increase the tickets. It's nbot worth protesting after the event.

02/12/11 - REDaction's long awaited meeting with club officials ...

Prior to the Man City game on Tuesday, REDaction finally had their long awaited meeting with club officials. Please see the main points from the meeting below, and please get in touch with any comments or feedback.

REDaction (Safe standing):

Can the club commit to looking at this in detail, and invite the FSF and the safe standing roadshow to the stadium?

AFC: This is a political ‘Hot potato’: No one in Government is expected to push for an overturn of the law, so therefore AFC feel there is no mileage in continuing with this.

REDaction (Fanzones):

Especially for Emirates Cup and Champions League games. Barcelona away was such a huge success, so why not try for home games?

AFC: Dortmund fans had a ‘fanzone’ of sorts as both clubs contributed to hiring Finsbury Park for the day. AFC to commit to organising fanzone in 2012 for the right fixture.

REDaction (Ticketing):

Has the club looked at the possibility of not including cup credits on the season ticket for 2012-13? Not only will this help with the upfront cost to the ST holder, but the REDaction angle on this is that it would potentially increase the amount of Red & Silver members within the stadium, thus helping improve the atmosphere.

AFC: No comments made on any ticketing issues, as these are being looked at ‘as a whole’.

REDaction (Carling Cup):

Is unreserved seating at (for example) the North Bank lower tier an option for Carling Cup home ties? Again, from an atmosphere improvement angle, rather than being restricted by the size of block 6.

AFC: No comments made on any ticketing issues, as these are being looked at ‘as a whole’.

REDaction:

Player interaction with fans, both on and off the pitch. The only way is up!

AFC: Headphones being worn while getting off the coach at away games discussed again, but that is a team managment issue, along with lack of match day suits. An improvement in post match appreciation by the players was noted, but the fans must also meet them half way, which includes staying for the full 90 minutes at home games. AFC then requested any ideas from fans that would help to keep everyone in their seats for the full 90 minutes and limit the early leavers. (*REDaction: Sensible ideas needed please!)

REDaction:

Any update on the ‘Loud Blocks’ proposal previously put forward by The Gooner / AISA / REDaction? We realise there is a lot of work involved in this, but are the club actively looking into this?

AFC: No possibility of such an extensive ‘re-stack’ of all supporters across the stadium in the short term.

REDaction (Location of away fans in the stadium):

REDaction believe there would be a huge benefit to the atmosphere if they were to be move to the upper tier, plus would make more (cheaper) lower tier tickets available to home fans. Can the club look into this?

AFC: No comments made on any ticketing issues, as these are being looked at ‘as a whole’.

REDaction (Use of jumbotrons):

Still criminally underused ; even something as simple as ‘Come on you reds’ when we get a corner is not used ; We had this at Highbury twenty years ago! Who is this controlled by during a match? Can we have a go?

AFC: Agree these are underused, and asked for suggestions.

REDaction:

Bearing in mind Arsenal fans don’t like to be told what to sing and when, suggestions are simply:

‘COME ON YOU REDS’

‘ARSENAL! ARSENAL! ARSENAL!

‘COME ON ARSENAL! COME ON ARSENAL!

To be displayed on screen when we have a corner / pressure on the opponent’s goal. Any other simple suggestions?

REDaction:

Bars at the North Bank ; ‘Early bird specials’ etc, ex players signing autographs in general admission areas, not just club level. This would help SM by getting more through the turnstiles earlier than normal.

AFC: Caterers to be approached to provide more beer tokens for an upcoming match in 2012. Suggestion is Blackburn on 4th February, subject to kick off time.

REDaction:

Why do the club not promote Block 6 as the ‘singing section’?

AFC: Agreed that this does not happen, and will look into this, including a ‘relocation’ option into / out of this area for renewals.

Just been on the Red Action Forum. Some REALLY ridiculous stuff. Look at this suggestion to "Fire a real Cannon" before each game. They have even suggested it to the Club in their meetings.

I'm sorry, but WHAT!?

Where is this going to be fired? Into old housing to clear the way for more redevelopment?

Good point made clockender mate. Reg, you talk about in "discussion" with the club...but there is no club response reported....so it weren't actually a discussion between the BSM & AFC, was it ? Whilst some some points you make appeal.... Ain't it just you restating your mandate ? :?:

Have a look at The Herd Board for what was said. Basically the Club have fucked off Red Action as they are trying to jump on BSM's mandate. The Club will respond to BSM in due course, but are well aware of the dis-content.

I'd be for this, especially if they fired a player from it, for instance Diaby....:barscarf: and why are Red Action nicking all of the BSM points??? Is it to show they are actually trying to do something positive for once??? :? :?

Think RA and the BSM pulling in the same direction can only be a good thing to be honest, don't see why we should slate RA, we disagree about methods and they've made mistakes in the past ( I<3AW march and the Love Arsenal Hate Usmanov stuff) but to their credit they are standing up and doing something about a problem we all moan about, so at least from my point of view it seems very disingenuous to slate them.
