The club is more removed from it's traditional supporters than at any time since the move in 1913, they have been engaged in attracting a new demographic of more affluent customers for the last decade like most of the larger PL clubs.
However, times are getting much tighter, & the more affluent customers still have many potential rival outlets looking for their diminished spare cash as prices rise & wages fall in real terms, plus the spectre of unemployment is ever present in most peoples minds.
Many of the traditional supporters would spend a large proportion of their income following the club, many spent more than they could really afford at times, attracting them back with further price rises will not work despite what some club marketing survey might say. Fans will not make themselves broke for the month for a football ticket anymore!
And for the affluent fans, even they are looking for more value in the entertainment industry that football is competing in.
Make no mistake about it the current ticket charges at the stadium are totally over the top & yet more price increases will just confirm that fact. Just look at the prices in the Upper Tiers behind the goal for further proof compared to a decade ago at Highbury
We could yet see 35-40K in the stadium for games with the club announcing the gate at 59,000 odd
