Did you ever go to a Gig where the Band didn't turn up?
It's my Birthday today,so,as you do,I have been out for a few beers, returned home, and I am currently consuming a few cold ones from the fridge.
I have also been bashing the music collection, one of which was a selection from Thin Lizzy,"Live and Dangerous."
This reminded me of the time that me and a mate,(Greg),got tickets in about 1978,to see the afore mentioned band live at Coventry Theatre.
We had a few beers in "Cov" and tipped up at the venue, only to be greeted by a hastily scrawled A4 message sellotaped to the main door, claiming that the concert was cancelled due to Phil Lynott having Laryangitis!!!
We got our money back, but we would have much rather seen the band!!!
Anyone else been stood up by a band?

I follow a band all over the country. They are often brilliant, but when it matters on the big stage, all they play is a load of bum notes, they are out of tune and the singer forgets the words. They are only a young band though and the band leader has asked that we continue to show faith in them. I think it may have something to do with the instruments they use. Whilst their rivals have all the top gear, this band has a Chad Valley keyboard, an old steel drum, some African tribal instruments and a big glockenspiel at the back.

Guns N Roses at Slaine back in the early 1990's.
Well they were there, but they didn't "turn up" big time if you get my meaning. They were just shite. They were nearly 2 hours late on stage because Axl whining bitch Rose was moaning about the type of mineral water back stage or some such shite. The fucking bass was out of tune for most of it. Naomi Rose kept changing his fucking outfit so there was a 10 minute break between most of the songs. Utter contemptuous little wanker.
Faith No More blew them off the fucking stage that day.
And erm... the first band I played guitar in didn't turn up for our final gig as we were all drunk and had a huge punch up outside the pub leading to the singer throwing a massive strop and quitting. Followed by the bassist. Leaving me and the drummer standing around watching people pay in and afraid to let them know there was going to be no gig... we kind of just snuck off then. In fairness though, we were a bit shit anyway.
