Goetze saga
I heart Arsene's morals. He's taken over £42 million in salary over the past seven years and has achieved the square root of fuck all! Nice work if you can get it. Then this twat dares talk about insane wages in football, and financial doping as £55k a week Squillaci and £52k a week Bendtner and £60k a week Diaby and £55k a week Denilson and £60k a week Almunia and £60k a week Roshitty and £65k a week Chamakh and £40k a week Flapianski and £70k a week Arshavin all pick up mercenary wages for mercenary application.
Wenger is one of The biggest culprits of the mercenary self-entitled problem in football. Much more so than Ferguson (who earns less than AW but justifies his salary and who has little time for mercenaries).

Why? What has changed? Nothing so far yet. Even if we don't make it into the CL next year and Arsenal will make it...then maybe he could be a target for you...but you still have to open your wallet a bit moreRugby Gooner wrote:Maybe Goetze is more likely to sign for us in January now that Dortmund are no longer in the Champions League!

A lot of people saying that a fee has been agreed with BVB for Dortmund!
I've also heard a lot of people saying Spurs are a big club!
I'll believe it when I see Goetze holding up an Arsenal shirt, thanks, and not before...
not a personal dig at you Matt, out of all the people who've said it your info carries the most credibility, but I've learnt not to get my hopes up.

Not that I don't like a bit of national banter, all for it, but for fuck sake man, I'm half septic and even I know it is humour!!

How can you keep suggesting that somehow Wenger has done nothing for Arsenal? The value of things like the stadium to the club will only become obvious in the coming years - things like that which HE has helped add a large amount of finance to due to the players we've sold on for profit.Babatunde wrote:I heart Arsene's morals. Yes the man is on a large contract - but it's a small price to pay when, despite lack of transfer funds, we have been able to stay in touch with the big spenders in terms of league finishes.
Your "mercenary" buzz word didn't make your point any clearer by the way.

Mercenary, how much a year do we pay you, and you still post on other forumskiwomya wrote:How can you keep suggesting that somehow Wenger has done nothing for Arsenal? The only source I trust that I've heard is Sammy Dropped His Shorts off here, who's not the type of bloke to make things up for a laugh...Tomáš wrote:Serious sourcesSWLGooner wrote:A lot of people saying that a fee has been agreed with BVB for Dortmund!

And I think he does have a source at the club...

Your lack of fundamental business and economics knowledge is staggering. Truly. You've used the classic "lack of funds". Wenger has done some commendable things in the market but he's also cost Arsenal stacks of cash. Examples of this are through trophies thrown. Last night cost Arsenal another £2 mil revenue. When Arsenal miss out on the CL this year ( as we shall and deserve) he'd have cost Arsenal over £40 mil in lost revenue.kiwomya wrote:How can you keep suggesting that somehow Wenger has done nothing for Arsenal? How can you look at the contracts many overpaid clowns are on and defend your master? Seriously? The new stadium is not because of him that's bollocks. It's because of the fans who pour money into the club not Wenger. More propaganda.
This season you've seen scores of empty seats at every game. ST renewals will be hit badly by failure to make CL. Spuds have a wage bill of £71 mil post-Adebayor. Arsenal's is over £118 mil. That's a £40 mil plus difference. Yet Spuds are blazing a trail and look nailed on for a CL place despite a much lower wage bill and a summer spend of just £6 mil.
Do the research. All economists indicate that the real representation of wealth and expenditure in football is WAGES. Which are a constant. Not transfer fees. So that's more Wengerite guff about how his transfers are what did it. This is the man with a wage bill comparable with Man United but a squad of circus gimps.
Nice try defending your deity. Mammoth Fail though...

Listen I am not gonna say anymore on this but Goetze will sign for Arsenal.
If I am wrong then my source has got it seriously wrong. He was telling me about many of the smoke screens placed around his story. BUT Dortmund HAVE named their price and Wenger HAS said its a goer.....all that remains to be done is the deal with the player himself.
If I am wrong then sure I will take the stick I deserve and will apologise....
But if I am right.......then I won't brag

Trophies thrown? It's fucking football - you win some you lose some. You think we should have put out a first team against Olympiacos? The team we put out were well beaten by a side who still had a chance to qualify. The example you give of losing 2M by losing last night is a joke isn't it?Babatunde wrote:Your lack of fundamental business and economics knowledge is staggering. Truly. I don't know how we deserve not to finish in a Champions League place. The season hasn't finished. Where we finish shows where we deserve to finish - not at the start of December.
It's common knowledge that our wage bill is pretty high - although it's not common knowledge who is on what so I have no idea where you get those figures from. The overall bill is high consdering our performances but you can't single anyone out without knowing the facts. Or you can just guess and make the rest up yourself...
Spurs blazing trail hasn't transfered into the Europa League though has it? Out of the Carling cup as well. You think Redknapp should be shamed for losing them money by not winning all their games?
