Tonight's games

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Having just watched the highlights, some of the Zagreb defending looked very suspect indeed (especially for the third goal).
 as if we not used to it

"I think (going out) reflects what United have done in truth, they haven't scored enough goals and they haven't beaten Basle or Benfica. People have talked about the young players - you've had [Phil] Jones, [Chris] Smalling, [Ashley] Young coming in, everybody building them up but they've got a lot to do, it's a reality check for some. I'd be getting hold of some of those lads, saying 'you'd better buck up your ideas'. United got what they deserved tonight."

Sir Alex's comments on Keane post game

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm pretty sure everyone saw Keane's comments post game regarding the youngsters needing to buck up their ideas.

Sir Alex was never going to let that slide.

Fired back by saying:

"Well, he's had opportunities to prove himself as a manager too"

Fucking ouch

Must admit when it comes to Europe I don't mind man united- want city and Chelsea to fuck off for trying to buy the champions league and want arsenal and man united to do well but having said that they do have an inordinate amount of plastic fans and they do strut around as if they own the fucking premier league so I have had great fun pissing myself laughing at them being knocked out of one of the easiest groups they could possibly have wished for
Now just hope arsenal stay in it so I have a side to support in the very late stages and hope Chelsea draw Milan and get fucked. Channel 5 will be wanking furiously tonight mind!

hate to be the utd or citeh fixture secretary tonight. Imagine all those phone calls... "about that Saturday fixture we have... any chance you could move it to Sunday or Monday?"

It must get pretty confusing. In the Round of 32, which Man Utd are entering, they're due to play at Norwich two days later, on the Saturday at 5.30pm (presumably on ESPN).

No idea how those get changed around.

Have heard someone say that 4th place in the league won't get you in the CL next year due to both manchester clubs dropping out?
Complete bollocks surely (not that I care)

The number of teams each league has in the CL is down to their success in Europe, so it may be the case but I don't see any of the other Leagues doing better.

Oh and what a fucking brilliant evening. Got so many texts and emails to send!

I think it would be from the season after next but tbh I cant see it- England still has 2 teams through to the knockouts, theres 2 German sides, 2 Spanish and 3 italian. I dont think that will be enough to see England get overtaken in the coefficient places tbh, especially since the English sides might still get further than the German and Italian sides. IIRC from next season Italy have lost their 4th place to the Bundesliga.

Co efficiency ratings are intact for five seasons....makes no difference because two English clubs are in last 16 therefore the co efficiency will remain strong based on the high points we have a nation.

Utter garbage about 4th place being lost
