yeah i was sopossed to say "i cannot see..."

I think eboue is a decent full back but as someone said earlier he hasn't got a trick from a standing start, can't shoot, cant cross (any more). He is a fair squad player but the sooner we get a proper right winger the better, whether that is hleb or someone new.

The facts are that Alf Inge Haaland (or however it is spelt) hardly ever played again and in his book Keane admits he intentionally set out to hurt the player!

The fact that started this whole sorry business is that Keane himself launched a horrendous tackle on the same player in previous years which only ended up with serious injury to Keane himself.

The fact Keane then saw fit to try and extract some kind of justice for this is the most ridiculous thing ever!

no no he didnt ..in fact he didnt even end his game..he played on for that game and until the end of the season..and the next season ..but the biggest fact is ...Haarland retired becuase of an injury to his left leg....keane fouled him on his right leg

All I am pointing out is that Roy Keane admits he intentionally wanted to hurt another player and attempted to do this by way of an horrendous tackle!

the facts are he played on that season and the whole of the next season before retiring from an injury on the OTHER knee...therfore your statement are incorrect and indeed not FACTS

Keane's foul was to Haaland's right-leg but that caused the damage to Haaland's left-leg because it caused the knee to rotate violently. Keane's foul did do the damage, no question about that. Haaland tried to come back into resume playing but couldn't, due to the damage Keane had done to him.

There is a reason Keane and United didn't have to pay compensation in the end, but it had nothing to do with Keane's supposed innocence. Haaland had a separate, pre-existing injury that would have caused him to have to retire prematurely in any event. In law, that meant the amount of compensation Haaland and City could recover would have been tiny, because the loss suffered by Haaland as a result of Keane's action was negligible.

United and Keane were very, very lucky Haaland had that pre-existing injury - without it, Haaland and City had an open and shut case for large-scale compensation.

I always respected Keane as a player but he deserved much greater punishment for what he did to Haaland than he got.

Face it, Pancho, the brilliance of United over the past 18 years has been laced with some cynical and dispicable behaviour as well - Keane, Cantona, G Neville, Rooney etc. I accept that our lot have also done some shit stuff but your pretence that United are angelic is pathetic.

That is utter shit.

1. Keane wrote in his book (with admirable candour) that he went out to "do" Haaland, and once he'd done him, Keane leaned down and shouted into the prostrate Haaland's ear to celebrate having "done" him. Keane was also walking off the pitch before the referee even got the red card out. Pure, premediated violence on a fellow pro, with the intention of damaging him.

2. Once the book was published, and the nature of Keane's intent was clear to everyone, Haaland instructed lawyers to sue Keane and United - i.e. once Haaland knew the facts, he did anything but defend Keane. (I couldn't say categorically whether Haaland posted anything pro-Keane on his website but, having followed it very closely at the time, I can't remember anything like that. Even if he did, it would have been irrelevant given what was in Keane's book.)

Pancho, you don't know what you're talking about here. Best to shut up, rather than come back with bullshit developed by United fans to explain away what one of their heroes, on his own admission, did.
