So that excuses it does it?Pancho wrote:have I argued against the FACT that keane wrote about his intentions in his book...NO..what I have argued against is the urban myth that keane ended his career..he didnt , not even close FACT
The fact that Keane failed in his mission to "do" another player makes it alright?
What a bell end you are!

and when Gallas "warns" Nani publicly .. is that sporting ..dingdong
Keane didn't give a shit about what happened to Haaland, he just wanted to inflict maximum violence on him, regardless of the consequences.Pancho wrote:have I argued against the FACT that keane wrote about his intentions in his book...NO..what I have argued against is the urban myth that keane ended his career..he didnt , not even close FACT
There is no urban myth here - Keane's act did bring Haaland's career to an early end, even though Haaland tried to make a come-back (wouldn't you?). What Keane (and Haaland) didn't know was that Haaland's career was going to end early anyway. It is that fact, and that fact alone, which allowed Keane and United to avoid a lawsuit, in which they would have had to pay millions to Haaland and City.

question ...how can keane have ended his career as you stated..when he played on in that game ..the remaining 10+ games that season and for another 40+ games the season after...and on th wrong knee...how can you say keane ended his career...how exactly..
You seem to have a very simplistic sense of these things - either Haaland's career stopped the moment Keane did him or Haaland's career continued regardless and Keane is innocent.Pancho wrote:26may1989 wrote:Keane didn't give a shit about what happened to Haaland, he just wanted to inflict maximum violence on him, regardless of the consequences.Pancho wrote:have I argued against the FACT that keane wrote about his intentions in his book...NO..what I have argued against is the urban myth that keane ended his career..he didnt , not even close FACT

In the real world: Keane fouled Haaland in April 2001; the nature and extent of the injury weren't immediately apparent; the severity of the injury, and the need for surgery, were realised after the game; Keane played a few more times for City before giving in to the reality that he wasn't going to overcome his various injuries and retired in 2003.
I'd like to see proof for your suggestion that Haaland played more than 50 games after April 2001. I don't have my official guide (the old Rothmans) to hand now but I doubt your figures are even remotely accurate.

Pancho is right that about why Haarland quit but it doesn't excuse Keanes actions.
On the matter Keane said in his Book
"I'd waited long enough. I fucking hit him hard. The ball was there (I think). Take that you *word censored*. And don't ever stand over me sneering about fake injuries."
and
"My attitude was, fuck him. What goes around comes around. He got his just rewards. He fucked me over and my attitude is an eye for an eye."
Lovely
As a supporter I would have been more disappointed to hear this quote from Keane though!
""Away from home our fans are fantastic, I'd call them the hardcore fans. But at home they have a few drinks and probably the prawn sandwiches, and they don't realise what's going on out on the pitch. I don't think some of the people who come to Old Trafford can spell 'football', never mind understand it."
That might explain some of the shit comments we have to suffer here.

keane is a leader of men ..gallas spits out his dummy and leaves his team to fend for themselvs....SPUDMASHER wrote:Keanes a mindless thug with little intelligence whereas Gallas has the common sense to wind his opponent up without drawing the attention of the match officials. Good enough!!
keane admits his demons and faces his punishment..( he still is the only player to be punished twce for the same offence) gallas cries about his team mates wishes they were like wayne rooney, his opponenets and then when he gets humiliated by a 19 year old..he kicks them behind their backs...coward
If you're not going to read what I write, is there any point in this?? (Is there any point anyway, I'm not sure.)Pancho wrote:IT WAS THE OTHER LEG!!!!...how can keane be blamed for as you say "ending his career" when it was the OTHER LEG!!!
I wrote this in my first answer to you: "Keane's foul was to Haaland's right-leg but that caused the damage to Haaland's left-leg because it caused the knee to rotate violently." The consultants who examined Haaland confirmed that the damage to his left-knee was caused by Keane's challenge, even though he made contact with Haaland's right-leg.
Why are you having such trouble accepting this?
