Chavs vs Mercenaries

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I fear it's gonna be far from easy shipping out our overpaid dross
Well that's another problem in itself and one which wasn't helped by giving Bendtner, Vela, Denilson, Fabianski and co. 5 year deals on ridiculous wages. None of those 4 will ever make a decent mark on our first team and yet if you added their combined wages together it would come to the same amount that someone like Goetze would probably command

Arshavin's stock is still high in Russia though - perhaps Anzhi will come along with their 100k+ per week super wages. To be honest I wouldn't give a shit if Walcott went and signed somewhere else on a megadeal....bigger players than him have been replaced

Theo has changed my mind this season
I thought we should sell but now see him as a first team player
- if more and more top clubs are going to try and replicate the Barca pressing game he only becomes more effective

Theo is one player that can not hold us to ransom, no other manager would give him the time he's had and Chamberlin is an improvement.

:high5:

Amazing how a few good games all of a sudden means that he is good enough all of a sudden  I still believe that he is not good enough for The Arsenal and I feel that his lack of a footballing brain added to his cockiness/arrogance will prevent him ever being a top player at the highest level

He's the most fortunate player in the modern era, how's he's been an Arsenal and England regular is beyond me, yes he's playing well now but he's been paid well to play well and and hasn't been value for money in anyone's language.

Agree with all the above on Walcott.

It is indicative of how used to mediocrity we Arsenal fans have become that he is viewed as one of our better players

historically Theo has been gash
but IMO he's been the league's best right winger this season
for me one of the first names on the teamsheet
(and I think the fact that his confidence has improved/he is now arrogant is part of that)

Ca$hley is a scumbag
to some xtent I feel sorry for him - if he had stayed he would be an Arsenal legend by now, possibly captain
but he's got more money and the oligarch who bought him bought some trophies
the Chavski fans will never love him though
and I have a hatred for him that outstrips negativity I've felt for almost any other player
but this
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... -City.html
is pretty damn funny

100% a Chelsea win. Then we win at Eastlands on Sunday & are 6 points off the top?
and some people say I come out with crap

I seem to remember a month ago everyone cheering on Chelsea which at the time I thought was a bit odd to say the least.
how does everyone feel about that now?
You want to know how i feel? Right here we go - i want us to win the league or finish 10th no places inbetween matter....... If we win the league i will happily say everything ive said about Wenger was wrong and become a rosetinter instantly but if we dont and finish outside the Champions League places the club might (and i say might) have to do something about the senile old *word censored* of a man that currently runs my football club

I would be happy with a serious title challenge, that doesn't unravel because of squad frailties, tactical ineptitude and lack of bottle. All of which have repeated themselves over the last 6 seasons.
Then at least we could say we gave it our best shot and lost simply because the opposition were better. We could then be happy with our clge place, confident that the manager would address our shortcomings for the following season. If again it wasn't enough then at least we would have tried.
This I believe is nothing more than any fan of a top club should expect. We have no right to win anything, but we do deserve the right to have the club, do it's level best to try.

And why the fuck would he invest more money when he doesn't even have a seat on the board and when Kroenke owns the controlling majority. The only way he comes in with cash is a complete buy-out of Kroenke.

Glad to see people waking up to Usmanov as a friend, 2 years too late, having bought into the sustainable model shit that Gazidis has preached and Kroenke has continued

thats why I want Kroenke out asap

it was fairly obvious a year ago that Usmanov was the better option.
Kroenke out is the banner that should go up on Sunday
